@natehate I’ve been into the idea of a Harley for sometime and have been considering a 5 year old fourth eight for months as a ready to go set up. But there’s just something that always draws me to making it my own. Love what you’ve built, a lot, can you tell me more about it?

started life as a 79 harley fxe shovelhead, hardtailed the frame to panhead specs using repop panhead axle plate castings. 21" front wheel, 18" rear. hydraulic hear drum break. repop harley springer front end.

don't you know there ain't no devil? only god when he's drunk!

Thought I'd try re-ignite this awesome thread given the current stay at home policy with some shots of my CB750, cafe racer, shed build. This one's been happily draining my savings for the last two years. I have my 70 year Dad (retired engineer) to thank for getting the important stuff set up right. We still ride together occasionally, the memories of which, will never leave me, what a legend! We completed her last year, and was rightfully chuffed to display her at the Bike Shed 2019. If only I could take her out now, with all those empty roads!

sorry to quote all the photos again. but they're definitely worth it. this is hella coincidental because i've been eyeing up a cb919 hornet for a long time for a cafe mod.. i've also been thinking about tinkering with a bike with all this free time now.

also, i suppose you can still go out for a ride as long as you don't stop anywhere. straight out the garage and straight back in after.. no exposure..

Only go outside for food, health reasons or work (but only if you cannot work from home)

Which initially I thought was ridiculous, but say I drive to the beach to fish (when I go, the hours are so antisocial, I rarely see another human being anyway) and have a car accident, then I will be placing strain on the health system, which is at breaking point anyway,  that is unnecessary…..

huh, interesting. i was pondering this point before the other day. 'go for a drive down coastal roads but don't stop. anywhere to get out of your vehicle'

My difference is you never step off your motorcycle or out of your car. i did think of the point of less social contact, or in my thought, none at all. but there's always a what if on accidents like you mention..

Cheers for the compliments @louisbosco 🙂

@Giles well said, that's the very reason why I am #stayinghome. The health systems and professionals need all the support we can offer right now, so recreational riding is just a no go right now.

@Giles thank you. I wish more people could see this rationale. It is not good now, but think just how massive the outside world we seem when you can get back in that saddle!  😉

@gc I know nothing about motorbikes, but if I did, I'd want one like this! Awesome looking bike.

I've been searching for a pre 90, and it seems so few of them are about. Having said that, I am in the UK and probably looking in the wrong places…
