        Brilliant. I love seeing the different ways folks style their IH shirts. This looks great on you @konadog

          Never really considered this shirt, but thanks to an incredibly generous loyalty discount (thanks IH crew!) thought I’d pick one up on a whim. So glad I did, once I’d seen it in person and tried it on I think this may be my favourite IH shirt yet! It’s somehow rigid and soft at once.

          I went for a large, but wondered if I should’ve gone for medium. It feels incredibly comfortable but wonder if a slimmer fit might be more flattering… opinions? I’m 6”1’ and ~85kg. Cheers.

            It looks good. Difficult to say if the M would be even better though. The length of the sleeve looks right, and I’m not sure you could afford to loose more there. The body length and shoulders are fine, although you could go down there, but the chest looks fitted.

              Nice one, I think I’ll stick with the Large. Product page says no shrinkage but would rather not go smaller and come unstuck when washing. At least this way there’s a bit of wiggle room without looking like a sack!

                There seems to a skirting effect going on around the waist noticeable from the frontal photo.  The other dimensions look pretty good.

                There is very little difference between the M and L.  I would suggest going down to an M since the L is nowhere near tight.  This will hopefully reduce the triangle shape.

                  Thanks mate, appreciate the response. Ive just realised that in my haste to try the shirt on I didn’t actually fasten the bottom snap 😃 which has exaggerated the skirting you’re mention. Stupid me!

                  I’ve taken another pic which probably gives a better impression of the fit than my original..

                    I washed mine twice at 60 drying it by the fire in between, it has shrunk a bit and certainly feels a bit more snug as I hoped.

                      Now the fit looks really good and I would recommend keeping large.

                        Yes indeed. The angle on the first pic was also contributing ringte flaring hem. That is the size for you, no doubt. I’ll say it again, but you would struggle with the sleeves in an M.

                        To echo what was said earlier, a hard wash on 60C or even higher will give you a cm or so in shrinkage, so if you ever feel the need, you have that option.

                          Do you mean the length or width of the sleeves?  If the measurements are correct, the length difference is only 0.3in, which should be negligible.

                            Here are my measurements for a medium I bought in January.

                            The sleeves seemed a little blousey, so I gave it two hot washes.

                            I didn’t measure it in between the two washes, but based on the fit, my guess is the first wash gave it about 75% of the difference, and the second wash just snugged it up a bit more.

                            Can’t say the temp I used; it was my washer’s highest setting.

                            Shoulder: 17.5 => 17.3
                            Length:  30 => 29.3
                            Chest:  21.8 => 21.5
                            Waist:  20.5 => 20.25
                            Opening:  21 => 20.75
                            Sleeve:  26 => 25.3

                              It’s going to be over half an inch when you factor in the smaller shoulder measurements.

                                I genuinely appreciate the detailed response from you guys. Let’s face it - whilst we devotees, new and old, would all agree it’s worth every penny, IH gear by most people’s standards is expensive stuff! For enthusiasts newer to the brand (like myself) it can be quite daunting dropping such amounts on a single item. This forum and the helpful members really makes the process not only easier, but also informative and fun. Thanks a lot guys.

                                    Hi @jerkules, just dropped into this forum, I'm new to the brand, and find it funny that I've been deliberating over the same shirt and sizing issue as you, ¯_(ツ)_/¯  also in part, thanks to the generous loyalty offer from I.H. Never before have I wrangled over the sizing specs on a piece of clobber so much. Its justifiable right, given the goal is to reap the rewards of this incredible piece for years to come? An aside, but I too settled for the L in the end. Hard to imagine your between sizes, but having gleaned lots the knowledge on wear and shrinkage from this wonderful resource and community, I feel confident my choice is goodun!

                                    Enjoy! I certainly will.
