It’s -7C today, winter has been here for about two weeks and I haven’t had a stout for ages. Still drinking Orval and Saison Dupont. I think I’m ill…

I was looking at a milkshake DIPA earlier this morning… Granted it was 12 ABV and made by Wander Beyond so you know it's gonna be good but still... A DIPA?.. In November?.. Can we also blame climate change for this absolutely abhorrent behaviour?..

I’ve tried a few beers using blueberry (mostly impy stouts) and they’ve all been universally shite. Same with liquorice. Two things that should work but no one can get right. That being said, I’m growing increasingly conservative in my tastes and often just go from awesome, well made beers these days, without too much dicking around.

I can see the blurb on the bottle now… “a sour brew with a funky, yeasty nose, and hints of old cheese. Infused with dried, useless nuts leaving a bitter aftertaste”.

The blueberry pie milkshake ipa doesn’t come out till the 20th. Maybe I’ll wait a couple of days after the reviews start coming out.
