we are asking for a product that is already being made by lesser companies.

I think the above is exactly tje point. Haraki won’t do a thing just because it is possible or because others are doing it. It has to meet his standards of quality and construction.

As an example, N&F do 32oz denim but H won’t because heavy on its own isn’t the point. Practical performance and comfort would be compromised too much in his opinion. He wove the XHS to be heavy and functional.

@Paul9221 The 25oz is a very different beast to the SE 23oz. It isn’t just about weight but also construction. The thickness of the XHS already creates very chunky seams. Double those at the shoulder and you have an issue.

All that being said, never say never. The guy is an innovator and may well engineer a solution he is happy with in the future.

No, it's always 23oz, it's not the UHR.

I've been dreaming about an XHS Type III for years and I'm also hoping H-san will find a way to attach the sleeves one day. It would definitely be a grail item for many.

I'm not in a hurry to get a 25oz type III from just anyone.

By happy accident, Iron Heart was my first high-end denim brand.  I mistakenly assumed that all brands were just as good but have been disappointed when trying most other brands.  Not to say they're all bad, but Iron Heart just sets the bar so dang high that I'm having to lower my expectations when I try others.

So, if IH makes a 25oz type III, I'm definitely going to pick it up, but if brand XYZ makes one, I'll wait.

I noticed that the 634-BKSP is coming out for FW19. Has there been any recent interest in a more standard 634S-SBG, for example? I would fancy something like that!

Dang, that's a shame. If there's ever another sample, make it a size 31 😉

If anything, I still have my eyes on the 634S-142bb, so not all is lost!

@Giles as a manufacturer and distributor have you noticed a huge trend towards 'smarter' more fitted, and stealth detailing and hardware?

PBJ, Viberg, and any number of others are rapidly moving away from the traditional work wear designs that drew most of us to this type of aesthetic in the first place. I appreciate that times change, market demand shifts, but it feels as though high end, respectable denim brands are succumbing to a type of 'fashion gentrification'.

I am surely just an old git moaning, but the garments that we trawled through used clothing racks for in the 80s and 90s, the rockabilly and biker aesthetic that kept trad denim style alive is all but gone. Goodness bless Iron Heart, H, You, and your good crew. I can always be sure that each season has at least a few pieces that capture my imagination (and wallet).

I implore you, please keep flying that flag long and high!

I have.  My position is that fashions come and go, we'll keep doing what we do.  If we happen to be fashionable at any point, then that's just because fashion has decided that what we do is fashionable, we'll be out of fashion as quick as we were in it.  But, the cycle will repeat.

This is where we can sell some stuff that may be seen as a little more edgy/smart/preppy:

I’m sure it has been mentioned several times already, but I wish Iron Heart would come out with a 25oz denim jacket.  I’m a huge fan of my IH-666-XHS and IH-526V-XHS [emoji123].  I’ve asked in the past, and was always told that “it is too heavy to do the stitching for the sleeves”, but I have 25oz jackets from other companies, like my Samurai S551XX25OZ-20TH Anniversary Type I.  There is without a doubt a market here.  Maybe even do a test run with pre-orders only and eliminate all risk [emoji2369].

Take it a step further….... add the ultra heavy flannel material as a liner, and a custom Good Art Pocket Snap.  I will throw all my money at you [emoji1787][emoji119][emoji158]

For you and anyone else asking for 25oz jackets - what's the appeal? 21 oz is already very heavy and IH has produced 23 oz outerwear as others have mentioned. Do you actually notice a difference or do you just like knowing your jacket is heavier than others?  I completely understand not wanting flimsy 10-12 oz pants/jackets, but part of me feels like the obsession w/ super heavyweight stuff is like a woman who keeps getting the size of her fake jugs increased because she's never satisfied with their size. Does anyone really want or need ZZZ tits?

I don't know that I would be able to differentiate between 23 and 25oz but, at least based on my experience with jeans, there is a very noticeable difference between 21 and 25oz.

But I know what you mean. I used that logic to talk myself out of picking up that new SE 23oz OD as I already have the 526Lod.

@Hematoma for me the weight isn’t the driving factor. Heavyweight denim in general (for the sake of it, lets say 18oz and over) has its charm and uses, but «the heavier the better» or «heavier for the sake of it» idea, isn’t my thing. If it was there are other brands making heavier denim than IH.

For my part, having anything made out of XHS is worthwhile. Iron Heart’s 25oz is probably my favourite denim, full stop. The combination of weight, softness, evolution, ease of use together with a whole load of aesthetic bonusens such as high contrast fades, vertical fading etc. make it very exciting and pleasing to own and wear.

For people who don't care that much about denim the 21 oz and the 25 oz might even look alike from a distance but they are completely different beasts with their own characteristics. I love both and for me they both represent Iron Heart at its best. While both are heavyweight denims the XHS makes the 21 oz feel even lighter than it actually is in comparison. The appearance of an XHS vest is a good sign that The Boss might bless us with an XHS jacket one day and that he loves the idea as well.

Unfortunately those jackets were produced shortly before I discovered IH which is why I couldn't get one. I feel like those jackets are extremely functional, warm and robust. I would love to see (something like) it reappear.

Also I have never seen anyone sell one in size small which is why I couldn't get my hands on it. Even tried posting in the WTB section 😞

As a general rule, anything that ends up in the Outlet won’t be re-made/restocked. That being said the jacket came out in early spring when it’s season was over. This is perhaps a reason for it’s underwhelming sales. This is a real shame as it is an incredible jacket. Very well made and designed and functions wonderfully in the cold.

IH Melton wool jackets come out relatively often by which I mean they are not unusual to find in AW collections. There are two due out in October, a pea coat and duffel coat, but no M65’s in any material. There are also som Primaloft coats/jackets coming which look very promising indeed.

Good luck with the wtb post. I don’t think there were more than two or three in small, in each colour for sale so they are really quite rare in that size.
