Agreed, but so are oil tanks, I can't run a stock horseshoe because of the battery. It's kickstart only so I could get away running a lithium one but I would still need to fabricate a custom oil tank, if I split the tanks I could run oil in one gas in the other, which would open up the back end of the frame a bit.

I started him and my daughter when they were about 3 sitting on my lap on a Vespa around the neighborhood. Pretty much increasing distance since then. Formthis trip we went due west from Chicago to the Mississippi river. From there up the river to where Iowa, Wisconsin, and Illinois merge and then came back today. 400 miles in 24 hours. Good time had by all.

I've just had my Thruxton serviced after it spent most of last year gathering dust. Whilst it was being fettled, I got the garage to bolt on the fairing.

The bike's running a lot better after the service. There were four recall notices that, err, I hadn't got around to sorting, one of which was a new engine map.

I've got a few more bits and pieces to bolt on. I'm currently trying to get a Rizoma licence plate holder and wiring kit so that I can install the sexy LEDs that are lying around my apartment.

I think that both bikes are similar. There's not a lot in it, though I did appreciate the shaft drive on my old Boxer, and it had a few more horses.

Oh, the screen on the fairing obscures the speedometer up to about 120 km/h for me. Given that the Aussies have a zero tolerance attitude towards speeding, I'm not convinced that's a good outcome!
