Is @neph93 the most hungover teacher in Norway today by chance?
Made me chuckle that Liverpool fans were letting off fireworks in the middle of the night outside the hotel Barcelona were staying out the night before.

An extra pint and 90mins late to bed so probably not. I was up and at the gym six hours later though and that was not nice.

You'll never sleep alone.

Better than the 05 final against AC Milan in your opinion?

What a shame: no CL for United next season… again. I would rather see them there than Twattenham and their arrogant players.
the players don't look like they wanted it either. neither them nor arsenal seem interested in finish top 4 going by the current run of games. not sure if OGS wanted it too, given that the europa league might give them a chance to rebuild and focus on the long term aspects of building a team. i suspect many will leave/ sold and a fresh chance to re build

If Liverpool could choose only one title this season: what would it be? CL or PL? Personally I hope they can do the double but ManCity is ruthless.
I am certainly no Liverpool fan, far from it in fact, but surely the Premiership would be preferred over the Champions League. If they get either though it will be an incredible achievement and what Klopp has done over the last 4 years is special. I was praying that united would go in for him when he was at Dortmund and Fergie's retirement was imminent

Certainly the majority of local/British or indeed adult fans with any sense of history would choose the league. There are a new generation of mostly foreign fans who worship the CL and think it is the be all and end all though.

Very different, but ultimately a greater sporting feat and an even more satisfying experience, from this supporters POV. Everything was stacked in Barca’s favour, everything. Messi’s first leg performance, the away goal rule, their pedigree, their rested players, our injuries to Mo and Bobby, everything. But they hadn’t counted on Anfield and the hadn’t realised that a team will always beat a star player. And Klopp has made a true team of these lads.

Agree with you on all of that.
Klopp for Manager of the year and Van Dijk for player of the year IMO.

Incredible performance, but I really cannot stand Fabinho.

Neither can Messi after last night so you're in good company at least.

It's not looking like it's going to be Tottenhams day.

Champions league is mental

You've gotta be kidding me

I'm really not sure which game was more dramatic…..incredible.

I think it's because when a team wins the Champions League trophy they are considered being the best amongst the very best in European football. They are the European club football champions then and I think the vast majority of clubs can only dream of that because they will never qualify for this competition in the first place. Although the English Premier League is one of the best and the most entertaining leagues in Europe (alongside Spanish LaLiga) and it is arguably even harder to win, the CL has still more prestige for many. I definitely understand the importance for LFC to win it after such a long domestic drought and I really would rather see them finishing on top than Citeh. Needless to say they should snag the CL as well.

Incredible performance, but I really cannot stand Fabinho.
His dive against Newcastle to win the free kick which resulted in them winning the game was absurd.

@Dion I understand that, and the media hype, advertising and marketing is all geared to making it huge in a global market. RM, Barca, the Milan clubs, Juve, PSG, BM as well as Man Ure, LFC etc are all global brands so pitching them against each other and sending it around the world is a no-brainer. It is a great competition and I’m thoroughly enjoying Liverpool being a force in Europe again.
But it is still a cup competition and in terms of proving the quality of a team, that will always be inferior to a league format. It is also a cup competition with rules that heavily favour the biggest clubs to ensure marketable spectacles in the final rounds. The way it is curated by UEFA means it is, if not rigged, then at least affected, impure even.
Winning the EPL has never been easy and at the moment it is insanely hard. The history of LFC makes it even more attractive. Shanks himself described it as «bread and butter». It is the true measure of the standard of a team.
