So you were an ALT, I've never done that, but I've been teaching English ever since I have been here. We've had our own little school for the past 17 years. Just my wife and I. Down the mountain in the city of Maebashi. Not much snow this year, but our daughter has been skiing. I don't really miss England cos we go there every couple of years. but I still love the countryside. And IH is in Gosport, where I lived for many years!! Small world indeed. -

I had a buddy back in Joetsu who had his own little English school. Think he was pretty happy with it. I lived in Uonuma for my first 5 years in Japan, which was just an incredible wonderland in the winter. I remember my first winter there when it was particularly snowy and the standing snow was probably a good 8 or 9 feet high. Had a ski hill in my village. Heaven!

I'd be very surprised if there's anyone else on this forum living near me. I don't see many people wearing raw denims here, just Levi's with flip flops lol.This is my first post & I'm gonna share some fit photos when my IH-555-XHSib arrive this week. I know it's going to be one hell of a first pair of IH's.

i live in sonoma county about 50 miles north of san francisco, the wine country..oakland however is my adopted home town…the brooklyn of the west!
Very cool. I don't know Oakland especially well, but I love Sonoma. Lots of great breweries in addition to the vineyards and wineries.
