I've had good luck with Plume Paris and Prodesign Denmark.

I don't know why these independent companies feel the need to put their location in their name.

I know violence is not the answer, I got it wrong on purpose

My advice with glasses is to try lots of things on. Finding something that works is trial and error.

And be brave. Life is too short for boring frames.

Went for an eye exam today…

My left eye vision has deteriorated from 20/25 to 20/70 in just one year... My right eye went from 20/20 to 20/25..... time for glasses.

          Glasses shopping is DIFFICULT.

Thinking to shave of my beard to get a better feel of what will truly look good on my face.

I wear contacts daily, and only wear my glasses when at home and in the evening.

The best pair I've ever had are Ray Ban original aviators with prescription lenses.
They still look new and I enjoy the larger lenses.

I considered aviators… they're the only frames I've ever worn, because I've always felt they're the only ones that look good on me.

I don't know if I want to be "that guy" all day everyday tho, lol

I get what you mean by that completely. They didn't want to sell me them at the store when I asked, originally.
They are a great "around the house" frame.

I am thinking of getting the Outdoorsman next with prescription gradient tinted lenses.

Clear frames as mentioned by filthy sound nice though too.

I have a pair of Orgreen (they are out of Copenhagen and manufacture and materials are generally Japanese) that are great. They are usually made of titanium alloys, acetates, or a combination thereof, and feature that famous Danish design language. The titanium frames are lightweight and durable. I have this model in a subtle brown anodized exterior and dark red anodized interior scheme. They are good for active life.

I also have a pair of TD Tom Davies from England that are quite well-made, brushed titanium wire rim paired with black acetate. They only made 50 of them and I don't see them online, but from a distance they look like your typical wire rim glasses, and look a bit more modern and luxurious close-up. This model at least is not as good for active life, as they are heavier and can fall off during activities like lifting.

                Good luck!

                Think it, be it.

that would be pretty amazing to be able to just walk outside and see something that beautiful every day.

That's one reason I love living in Colorado. As long as I make it out of the house, chances are I'll see the front range and some cool stuff happening in the sky. If only I lived IN the mountains…

As far as northern lights, I have only seen Aurora borealis one time from wilderness near Hastings, WI during a solar storm. It didn't have the curtain effect, but was more like a river of pulsing green charged particles flowing north to south. I also really want to see the effect at higher latitudes.

                                      Think it, be it.

Agreed.  I wish the aurora borealis was more predictable. I've wanted to see the northern lights forever, and I'd totally plan a trip if I could be sure I'd see them.  Julie and I've been semi-joking about going to Iceland because every once in a while the plane tickets are mind bogglingly cheap. Maybe someday…

He regularly drives groups of Japanese or American tourists out to a spot in the middle of nowhere with close to zero light pollution, in the middle of the night, to get a glimpse of the northern lights. They’re provided with appropriate clothing and some sustenance then sit their for two or three hours waiting to see something. He reckons one in five groups get to see the show.
