Definitely a lovely touch. Is this available for pimpage? If not, it needs to be! 🤩🤩🤩

I can get pimpage buttons, will place an order today…...I pimped my @Kurt-faith jacket a couple of days ago…..

They are the same design as @neph93 's, but sewn on to show a different face…

Those are lovely. What’s the cost per button? They come in sets?

          Maybe so. Maybe not

Not sure of price atm.  There are at least 2 sizes, I've just ordered a whack of every size josh makes….We'll sell them individually...

555N have a pocket bag come away at the top seam. Put new iphone in what I thought was the pocket and it promptly dropped down the inside of my jeans and landed on my foot!

Anyone any ideas how to fix it ?

My 555N pocket bags are starting to wear through too now, a couple of years in though.

One of the button holes on my leftie has become threadbare and the stitching is coming away from the denim. Any idea of a fix? Looks like it would be a straight forward job with the right thread and machine.

I'm pretty gutted actually. Just over a year in and 1 soak and wash. Didn't expect any major issues.

Buttonholes do get fekked. My XHS had a screwed buttonhole after a year. I’ve never done anything with it and it still does the job.

Not saying it isn’t a fault, it could well be, but they are an element of a garment that can be subjected to a lot of stress. It may well be some good old wabi-sabi.

@Giles  here you go. I think it's just probably par for the course with heavy weight  denim. The thicker the weft and weave the harder it must be for a finer thread to hold a stitch?

You can hand-stitch that.  It's a tricky stitch to do well, but very satisfying when you do.

Thank you, that's a really interesting article, but I think I'll leave it in the hands of a pro. I just contacted the denim doctor up in Manchester, and will compare with Soldier Blue in London.

I've corresponded with a tailor that specialises in denim repairs. The button hole thread needs to be unlocked, a piece of denim placed between the placket layers, new stitching applied and hole recut. It's straight forward.

As someone that repairs a number of brands that work in 19oz + denim it is apparently not an uncommon issue that heavy denim weft and weave frays easily and the cotton/polycotton thread used for stitching isn't able to hold as long as with lighter denims.

Anyone else had button hole issues? It's a weight not brand specific issue.

I had the same issue with my XHS after a few weeks.  Sent them to Denim Therapy in NYC for a fix. Haven’t had an issue since. That was 3 years ago. Then and now pics.

@Sage954 thanks for sharing those pics. I'm sending my jacket off this week to the denim doctor in the UK (where I live). Quoted £12.95 for repair. I can't complain about that! Pics posted once I get them back.

Has anybody had any experience with having sleeves taken up? I think I’d want them taken from the cuff but I’m not adamant. Is it risky? I’m considering getting this beautiful Warehouse & Co work shirt in a (6-8oz?) chambray, but the sleeves are almost comically long..
                                      Any feedback would be appreciated!

I’ve read about it being done and asked my seamstress about it. It is doable in theory and you’re correct that the cuff needs to be detached. The challenge comes with the construction of the cuff/buttons and opening. If you have a seamstress/tailor you trust then show them a picture of the actual shirt and see what they say.
