Iron Heart Products - What do you think we should make?
-
An N1-sbg would be a definite for me, whereas the solid colours aren't (already having a BR pre my IH epiphany). I don't wear my 526-sbg as often as I'd like, but it seems to be fading nicely despite that, and can only get better with time
-
IHM-21 in SBG just makes too much sense…..
I close my eyes and imagine how epic a traditional wool pea coat would be if it faded in high wear areas... THAT is what the SBG one would look like.
Still has the ruggedness expected of Iron Heart denim... Starts off classy and traditional (And could sorta stay that way with careful wearing), and for those that dare, it can be beat to hell.
For reference, MF's midnight denim pea coat (16oz Indigo x Black denim)
–---
The 21oz SBG is so stiff and crunchy... Those elbow combs would be SICK. -
This is a great idea ^
All the recent classic jackets made from 21oz look so well made and sharply cut but I can't commit dollars to them because I wear enough indigo as it is (jeans/vest/shirts) and another indigo layer in the form of a heavy coat or jacket would limit the amount of wear it gets. SBG versions (or possibly even better, OD'd versions ???) would be see much more use and would age beautifully too. Difficult not to throw money at for my part.

Thanks, and exactly.
I hope this idea gets legs… I believe @Giles said a while back that there is a resurgence in demand/request for black garments. I don't see why this couldn't ride on that same wave.

Not many.
The IHM-15 sold very poorly. Most of the people who got one, are seriously in love, a few did not like the fact that it had quite a large hem - (It's meant for walking and running in, not to be cut like a Kimono)….We ended up putting them on sale...
So I would need a LOT of persuading to put my bollocks on the line...
Are you talking about the IHM-11, or the 15? I know both ended up on sale—but the short one is the one we’re after.

Having just worn mine yesterday, people missed out big time.
I am among those who got one and really, really like it. Edit: just read that you meant that the 11 was the one that didn't sell as well, but my thoughts still remain for the 15. Such a great jacket…

To me the IHM-11 and -15 are limited in that being cotton, they are not meant to protect from the rain. So they're super warm but meant for dry-ish weather. That makes them quite specialized. I considered the -15, but went for a hooded waxed coat instead, which is more useful for me in Seattle.
-
So @Giles did I read there's a Chance you'd rethink a black IHM-15? That would be the last winter jacket I'd ever Need. But please, think of lined and easy accessible sidepockets.
-
@Giles, what about using the water resistant wool of the upcoming pea coat for this IHM-15 reboot? With alpaca body and hood…Sounds amazing to me.

Black wool exterior, I would vote primaloft liner, or blanket lined.
