I've always liked this one. Lots of bourbon.

I've never seen a beer with Cyprus wood. Does it give a flavor similar to oak?

It's less "harsh" than oak, but similar… The hops might be throwing me off though...

Oh: and it's been aged on Cypress wood btw, it's not an ingredient...

Young master Eli… is this worth a punt? I’ve never had any of them but if some are crap I may be better off waiting for the monopoly to get their shit together and bring them in separately.

I don’t drink much these days but felt like dropping in to my neighborhood liquor store and found this. I have to say, the sheer number of micro brews available was overwhelming. I must’ve browsed for 15 min just trying to soak in all the varieties of beer. Glad to see they had Evil Twin, especially after seeing it here many times. The Molotov Surprise is 12% ABV which I like [emoji106]

I think this one is a bit more door than last year's batch.

I grabbed a few bottles, since Love Child is always good, so it'll be interesting to see how it ages.

Are canned beers the new craze? I’m sure this has been going on for awhile but it seems like most of the micro brews I saw were in cans. Probably more economical. Also curious, do a lot of these micro breweries subcontract manufacturing out to different, bigger companies? Seems likely since I imagine the startup costs alone would prevent most from having a mega facility to make beer

Canning is definitely on the rise in a big way.  There is huge consumer demand for cans presently.  Cans also present a number of quality benefits, mainly they let in zero light (even brown/amber glass lets in a bit) and they have more airtight seals than bottles with crown caps (reducing oxygen exposure over time).  The cans are often more economical, but it's highly dependent on supply chain.

There are some breweries/brands that contract out production to larger facilities, but the majority self produce.  Startup costs are high, but you definitely don't need a "mega facility" to produce beer.  Some amazing stuff gets produced in some pretty humble/surprisingly small places.
