It was a "great idea", and we all know how those typically turn out…..

Likely, my disdain for the process and results is due to my less-than-stellar adherence to methods/protocol, and habitual corner cutting... because there are some great examples of DIY waxed jackets out there (Modern and vintage), but mine DID NOT turn out like that, lol! I ended up, after HOURS spent waxing over 2-3 days, just putting it in the clothes dryer on HIGH and melting out the wax. It was splotchy/patchy, greasy, and it held on to dog hair and lint more than a wool sweater, which particularly sucks, because it's lined with alpaca.....

I just put it in the clothes dryer with a few old towels, and let all of the wax melt out of it/absorb in to the fabric.

When it rains a bit, the water beads up on it so it did keep some of the water proofing that I was going for

Is UHR done for good in it current iteration? Or can it still be made? I'd love some sort of jacket made from the most current UHR.

Looking for some Chelsea Boots to dress up my jeans for work.

I know the thin, pointy ok toes are coming back, but I’m 220#, and beatle boots don’t cut it for me.

Looking for a slightly tall stacked heal, black rough out/suede leather, and a fairly beefy overall look, but still sleek.

                        Oh, and under $300…

Anyone know where I might be able to find such things?

                        Thanks!

@Appfaff Do Blundstones work for you. They have some dressier ones, which might fit the bill at the price point you’re looking for.

Thanks @Jett129 - looking for something with a more western or Cuban style heel, but Blundstones are definitely an option!
