IHxSE TYPE III 14oz Overdyed With Hand Pockets

Tbh I’m not sure if it’s copper myself or just copper coloured, but do the ones on your jacket match the ones in the pic I posted?
I’m especially interested because the only think that irks me about my IH-526J-od is that I’d prefer the kind of button seen in the pic (and possibly on your jacket) to the silver coloured ones.

no, they don't. Brass perhaps?

@gaseousclay Even better, they look brilliant. Although I wonder if they are the same as on the pic but the OD process has stripped the outer layer. Either way, they are more in line with what I'd like on my type III's. Thanks for following up.

It's possible the OD process has stripped the outer layer but i'm not 100% sure. When I look at the buttons on my jacket the black overdye coats the buttons, but when I looked at pics of the IH-526Jod and IH-526Lod the buttons do not have the black overdye and look more silver. The overdye also shows up on the snap closures on my IHM-20.

They look like the usual IH hardware you can find for example on the 526J but after the OD-treatment and exactly like the buttons on the 526JOD.
OK… then my eyes are playing tricks on me. My IH-526J-od has obviously silver coloured buttons that have been tarnished during the OD’ing. Looks to me like GC’s buttons are more yellowish/brownish in colour, like brass.

Here's another pic of the underside of the button. It looks /grey/silver-ish, or like it has a silver coating. I think you're original assumption is correct in that the overdye process may have stripped some of the coating off the button to reveal the original color. Again, I defer to @Giles since he would know more

Don’t get to wear this enough but the recent dip in temperature has made this a perfect Fall jacket. At this rate I may see some evo in 2-3 yrs [emoji848]

Has anyone given this jacket a wash yet? If so, did you experience any shrinkage?

I haven’t washed mine yet and likely won’t for awhile since mine only gets occasional wear

Might have to wear mine Friday— it’s gonna be warmer out so can squeeze this in one last time before it heads back to the closet

Looking forward to seeing how the lightweight denim fades compared to the heavier versions on here that have much more evolved photos.

I bought mine around January 2018 and can say that mine has had virtually zero fading. But, it doesn’t exactly get worn a ton either.

It will need to be worn super hard for a long time to get results, it seems.

I can’t speak to the jacket’s fading potential but the fabric loves a wash. It definitely acts as a catalyst for evo.
Agree. The triangle of terror type III looks marvelous, especially after the washes.
In my case, as much as I’d like to see evo on my jacket i’m not exactly in a hurry. I only wear mine a handful of times when the temps justify it, so it doesn’t need a wash and likely won’t for awhile.
