ITS 5.5%… Who the hell is paying you to be a teacher???
Very wise people who know that apostrofes can be used to show ownership as well as in contractions.
No, that's just wrong. Sorry, but no.

Upon further reading I’m understanding the issue better. «It» as a pronoun should logically use a progressive apostrofe but «ITS» is a possessive and doesn’t need one. It would seem that I and many other teachers and teachers of teachers are perpetuating the corruption of the English language. Burn baby burn.

Can't trust the British to teach English properly.

To follow up on the grammar nerd stuff-
He, she, it, and they are third person pronouns. None of them use apostrophe s to show possession (his, hers, its, their). While it's an exception to the general rule, it is a somewhat consistent one. -
Its's getting a little long in the tooth, this grammar lesson.

Little sample of my first beer at the new brewery. Nothing fancy, but it’s a fairly traditional London style porter base with the addition of Kiawe flour (ground up pods from an invasive tree here in HI that imparts an ameretto/coffee type flavor) and some locally grown vanilla from right here on the big island.
Not carbonated yet, but post filter. Super happy with it… -

Agreed - it's run its course…
