Well for me I guess it's because I don't have the generations of deep seeded rivalry in my blood passed down to me by my footballing fore fathers as a non-English fan. I just bonded with United when I started following the EPL in 2003 because those were about the only games aired in the states at that time with some Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund games (oddly enough) thrown in there. Plus I loved Ruud Van Nistelrooy.
Also, I like to be a big picture kind of guy and I just love the sport in general and competition itself. So when other clubs in the EPL ramp up their squads it's only good for the game and the league as a whole IMO. I guess there's an argument to be made that it's actually good to have dominant dynasty type teams in the league but I prefer a more competitive one all around.
Plus, I just really like this Liverpool squad and I think their signings so far are perfect additions that will translate into results on the field.

65million quid for a keeper though. and to think back in the day 30million quid for rio ferdinand was the record. now it's 75million for VVD. absolutely mental

Was that Sturridge goal the fastest goal scored by a sub ever?

Does anyone think Mou will survive this season as United's manager after another awful performance of his team today? Cheers to BHA for earning massive three points.
Finished 2nd in the League last year. The only team who beat them in points are ridiculously wealthy and its no surprise they win. Too early to tell this year but if they fail to get top 4 then he might be at serious risk then.

I think Zidane needs to get here ASAP. we looked like absolute dog shit today. Pur defense was a joke.

i'm a fan am a fan of mourinho. i think he's a great manager. some of the mistakes made by the players last night, like bailly, you can't really say it's the managers fault he played like that. but the attacking play, Mou really needs to put some spark into it and set it on fire..

Oh hell yeah, nice equaliser for Newcastle.

Well shit…

Good second half. Shame about the result. I dislike Chelsea intensely as a club.
I once watched LFC get a draw at Stamford Bridge standing on The Shed end in a Liverpool shirt. My brother and I couldn’t get away tickets so each of us bought a cheap hoodie to cover our colours with, then failed to hide our joy when LFC equalised. We were lucky to get out alive [emoji23]

@neph93 glad you made it out. We be lost on how to shrink a wabash shirt. Ok a serious note I don’t understand violence at football games. American or soccer. Had season tickets for the giants and Yankees for 25 years and saw a lot of ugly shit go down. Women being sexually harassed or pushed ND shoved, threatened with rape. By grown men, who as Jerry Seinfeld so rightly said, are rooting for “laundry”
