IHWE-Build-5 - Iron Heart/Wesco 9" Brown Engineer Boot
-
@Bulatik85, how they feel, after some good use they should be hopefully comfy by now!
-
Hi @marlin ,
Yes they are more comfy now, no blisters anymore
I think that I didn't yet used them a lot, since I am not walking a lotand I have to wear some more formal shoes during the work-week. But I am wearing them from time to time ::)
I will try to make some pictures later… -
For those who own these: If you had to guess, what would you say is a minimum leg opening you would want to have? My jeans generally have about a 7.25 to 7.5 inch leg opening.
I think you’re best talking about cuts rather than measurements as shaft width is relative to boot size as hem width is relative to tag size.
I can get the 555 cut over mine (jeans W34, boots 10.5D) I like the result, but it isn’t necessarily a look everyone embraces. If you can be bothered you can do a search under my forum name, with key words IH-555 and Wesco. It should throw up some pics.
One thing I will say, the slightly shorter shaft makes them better for slim tapered jeans than I thought it would. My 11” boots disturb the silhouette of the jeans more than these.
I find the 666 and 888 cuts are perfect for Engineers in general. Slim, fitted silhouette without the boots affecting the fall of the jean.

I'm the same size in White's Semi-Dress, Viberg 2030, and Wesco's standard Jobmaster (10D). I don't have any experience with Red Wing, though.

Anyone care to chip in with their ¥0.02 worth, if I'm 8.5E in White's (SJ, SD) and Nick's (Robert and whatever the #2 toe last is called), would I go 8.5E or 9E in these?
I really shouldn't… But they are nice... The best dressed hobo in the shelter etc. etc...
I'd go 1/2 size up from your White's size. I'm a 9.5 in the SD last and 10 in this Wesco last.

Some pictures of my boots.
Could someone advise if this boots are broken in already or not? Just looking to the pictures.I didn't used them much yet due to weather conditions. When I walk a long distance I still can get blisters. So, I am wondering if they should adapt more or not. Any ideas?

If you haven’t used them much then nothing will change. Looking at the front of the boot, they seem new. The boot hasn’t formed to your foot yet. Ergo they aren’t broken in.
good, that what I was thinking about
I am an office worker, so walking a long distance is a rare situation for me and I have a few more boots in the rotation. + this is the first Engineer boots I ever had and with the double sole… ::)so now it is a good weather for such boots, looks like I need to use them a bit more. I see some progress already but looks like they are not yet fully ready.
I guess they should look something like this?

Not the same boot, but this is broken in…
