Watched the 2 games today. Fantastic! Really impressive collective perfomance from “Les Tricolores” and Uruguay! Mbappé, only 19 years old and Cavani delivered an enorme individual perfomance! Very brilliants games today!

Absolutley, Mbappe has a ridiculously bright future ahead of him…obviously.  I feel like Pogba will do a lot of maturing at this world cup as well, I can already see it in his play.

I think it's a bummer that we won't see Argentina vs. Portugal. It would've been so great to see two of the best of all time meet at the biggest football tournament. I guess it was the last chance and we'll never see it happen :(.

That was a pretty fun end to the game!  Crazy World Cup so far.  Gives me (probably unwarranted) hopes and dreams for the England squad!

Was surprised and disappointed to see that perfectly legitimate single-footed sliding tackles are now considered a foul if your opponent happens to fall over the ball in the process.  When EPL referees decided to make legitimate two-footed sliding tackles a red card offense a few years back, it was pretty shocking to me… but I kind of got it.  But one-footed, crunching sliding tackles are my absolute favourite part of playing football.  Especially here in the US where pretty much no one does 'em and you get to send some poor guy unexpectedly flying and come away with the ball.  It warms the very cockles of my heart.  (Or did, when I was playing with any regularity.)  I guess 'winning the ball' doesn't count for diddly squat anymore.

Okay…we did it...but terrible wait attitude all along this game...not the first time...2 years ago after a wonderful victory against Spain we produced the exactly same game against Portugal as tonight...and not make it...

They were poor and should have been better than Denmark the whole way. But they were good in the group stage, so maybe a comeback against Russia?

Me, too! I think they deserved to advance overall as Croatia was pretty unimpressive yesterday. Maybe Argentina was just that weak in the group stage.
