We left Sunriver and continued North East to Joseph, Oregon yesterday. My dads family owns some acreage in Joseph and they built a cabin on it in the 50’s now there’s 4 cabins on the property. I helped frame, roof and side our cabin in 2012. It’s still a work in progress but mostly complete. Projects in Portland keep us from finishing it…

Thanks @Aetas! Trying to make it fun!
Got a few awkward shots in front of Wallowa Lake yesterday before my father in law and I swam 1700 Yards. It was COLD! Even with a wetsuit. The whole lake is fed from glacial run off out of the Eagle Cap Wilderness. Oregon is a pretty beautiful place if you have time to drive around a bit!Current state of the Jeans
A quick snap inside the cabin from last night. Will try to get better pictures during the day today.

This is where we are staying this week.Dinner bell
Outdoor fireplace
Great room fireplace
Master bedroom fireplace
Master bedroom door. It’s a vintage hand carved teak door with copper accents
View from the front porch
This is a little slice of heaven on earth for our family! We spend as much time up here as we can! Unfortunately it’s not enough time [emoji26]

Thanks Adam. We are pretty blessed! My grandfather started buying up property out here in the 50’s and that’s why we have it today.

Wait a minute. You did all of that stone work? It’s beautiful.

I didn’t do any of the fire boxes or the main flue work. But I did help with about 80% of the river rock. Oh and did I mention that all the river rock used was free and local to this area… quite a few of the stones had to be craned in. It was a tedious and meticulous project. Also, back breaking!

Very smart man.
My grandfather did something similar when he got laid off at 37 years old with 4 kids.
He bought two (large but terrible) parcels of land, developed them himself, and owner financed nearly every house in there. Kept him from working a day past 45 up until his passing at 80, and my grandmother still gets mortgage checks from refinance notes.
I think the older generation oftentimes had more foresight than we do…

I agree Adam! Our grandparents had intuition and better work ethic than most of us now a days…
Anyway, thanks for letting me get these jeans dirty while I shared a glimps into my wild life. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed these jeans and the times I had wearing them.. and sharing with my IH Fam.

Beautiful landscape!!! Great work with the Pop’s. Looks like some fun times were had in the design and build of that cabin.
