I was THIS close to picking up the IH-816 in olive the second that I tried these on but then I learned of the IH-720 olive that's due to come out in fall/winter of this year. Now I'm holding out for that.
I do own a pair, as well as a pair of the olive whipcords. Great pants indeed. They look good on you.

I love the creaky boat description. This thing has a lot of sonic qualities that really augment the already-sartorially-awesome-ness of this jacket. I kept feeling vibrations like my cellphone was vibrating when I moved my arms, so I quit putting my phone in the pocket because I was constantly needing to check it. Also, there's a cool drum-like quality when it is "flicked", probably due to the tension in the weave. Oh, it's also easily the best jackets I've ever put on (I love my IHJ-46 and IH-526J, but this one is really special). If there were a 777 in 19 oz OD, I'd be all over it.
Haha, yes! I was just doing that flick test yesterday! Flicking the material sounded to me like flicking a really thick stack of papers or notepad.

Nice choice of trousers Paul. So good. I own 2 pair of the 816-GRY. One is to destroy at work.
They look particularly great with IH OD as you have demonstrated. I love mine with the IHSH-178 CPO.

Any chance of getting this fabric in a 666, 777 or 888 cut? I'd put money on them selling out pretty quickly.
I'm a massive fan of your overdyed fabric, but the left hand twill version is by far the most beautiful. I'm seriously considering getting a pair of 888S-OD, but would much prefer some jeans in 19oz LHT if they were made.
Is it just me or do you apply more black (over)dye to the heavier denim? The weft on the 14oz and newer 18oz overdyed (as seen in Self Edge exclusive 301S-OD) is bluer, compared to the black weft of the heavier fabric. It also seems like there's more blue show-through on the lighter weight denim with fading compared to the greyer fades of heavier weights.

Cool, great info. IMO the 14 oz overdyed is the most beautiful of them. The M 65 looked so good withthat greenish-blue shine.

I'll have to just hold out and pray that you change your mind on the 19oz LHT. As a denimhead, hearing that a denim is unstable just makes me want it even more.
In the meantime I might have to just go ahead and get the 888S-OD in 21oz while they're in stock. I'm craving some soft and warm jeans to wear to work this winter.Was it intentional that the latest 18oz release has less that previous releases? Are you planning to tone down the amount of overdye on future models to let more indigo show through?
