WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY (PICS)
-
This weekend I met up with the gentlemen from my dads side of my family in a cabin in Murfreesboro, Arkansas for a fly fishing trip.
We had a lot of rain the first two days, but a lot of luck on day three. Not a lot of pics, but here are some ( @Clint_D )
My drive through rural Arkansas was anything but easy. I had to wait on this train in TWO separate towns:
It’s hard navigating with no cell
Service:
Put the Land Cruiser to the test of some mud and gravel (it was fun):
The cabin:
It fronted the river we were fishing in:
We all caught a good number of fish. One fro my first day:
We had plenty of whiskey:
@formulapfaff had some luck as well:
Our group:
Hope everyone else had a great weekend!

@Appfaff
Looks like a great trip. Did you run into any hatches and get some good dry fly action? -
We went for the brown hatch run, but only hooked rainbows - caught most of our fish on wooly boogers and caddisflys

Pine Barrens, peculiar place near Mason-Dixon line. Serpentine rock found here among the oldest on earth near the surface with chrome deposits mined for shells during WW1. The pines are succumbing to beetle infestation.
Snowing today April 9.
Closeup of Pronto Type I really looking forward to fades. -
The state is starting to clear them in piecemeal fashion. ::)

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the 555 vs. the 777 @RoxRocks86
Also, I need to have Poke one day.
Ok, it’s official. You are coming to Alabama for a Pfaff Thanksgiving and we will go out for Poke. Your North American bucket list is long, but we can smash it in a matter of days. I’ll make @formulpfaff come and bring plenty of Tequila and Mezcal from TX

Sometimes people ask me, «Have you been to the USA?» and I’ve stopped saying «yes». Instead I say «I’ve been to New York». Don’t get me wrong, I loved NYC, but one thing this forum has taught me is that NYC is one thing, the USA another. I love the insights I get into life and culture in the US (and other places of course) here. From asking dumb questions about food to understanding how people live and work.
So yeah, the bucket list is long, Poke and Thanksgiving dinners is on it. And a trip to Pfaffville too! Cheers buddy.

@der:
I am an American and have never heard of „Poke“ (googling now). Poke is a verb, to me . . .
(Update: Now I know why I was not familiar, that chow is too upscale for this old boy.)
This seriously had me

My Google Photos account keeps on bringing up old photos, and so I thought that we could have a thread for flashbacks.
On 18th April 2014, @trail and arrow, @indigo bitch, and a very tiny @emil visited me in London.
Emil got locked out! :o
The Germans got introduced to fine English cuisine.
We all went to visit @Danny RnH .
Suitable shades were worn.
And there was a very cool prototype @simonc shirt.

Cool idea. I looked back and found a few that were from the same month a few years back.
