nah. i've seen the highlights now and i feel that it's a soft one to give away. anywhere outside the penalty area, sure go for it. but in the box, it has to be more defined..

All in all I think it was a fair result cause honestly I'm not sure Isco was offsides on his disallowed goal. After watching the highlights several times I think it was a penalty although I think giving Buffon a red card was uncalled for. The ref looked scared shitless with Buffon up in his face, like a deer in headlights and I think it was a knee jerk reaction to red card him.

Btw, unsung hero in that final play….Toni Kroos. That pass was delivered with pinpoint accuracy to Ronaldo with the calm, composed, efficient, ice in the veins disposition that ze Germans are known for.

A chest height challenge from behind, in the box, where the challenging player failed to make contact with the ball cannot be described as a soft penalty
And I am speaking as somebody who thoroughly dislikes both Real Madrid and Ronaldo, and has always had a soft spot for Juve.

It looks to me as if he did make contact with the ball though….still hard to say. At the end of the day I think the ref made the right call. He almost had to make that call. If he didn't and Juve ends up winning that game???? Man...he would have needed a police escort out of the stadium.

Watch it again dude, it was the attackers chest.
-
ah…it does appear that's what happened.

I still can't understand that there can be any doubt. It can only be a result of the circumstances of the game, the drama, that has blinded people to what actually happened. The defender bowls over the player from behind, when the attacking player is facing the goal mouth with a clear goal scoring opportunity. It's a free kick all over the park and a blatant pen in the box. The only debate should be about if the defender should have been sent off for the challenge, or why he wasn't yellow-carded.
You can find this:
"Where a player commits an offence against an opponent within their own penalty area which denies an opponent an obvious goal-scoring opportunity and the referee awards a penalty kick, the offending player is cautioned if the offence was an attempt to play the ball; in all other circumstances (e.g. holding, pulling, pushing, no possibility to play the ball etc.) the offending player must be sent off"."Soft pen" has become a term people use when a penalty is awarded that they'd rather wasn't (I should know, I've done it myself
).

Not to mention the defender himself said it was worthy of a penalty.

Don't expect to learn anything from the commentator

That’s my highlight of the season too
Rafa sounds serious about staying put, saying he wants us in the top 8 next season, here hoping the Jabba the owner puts his hands in his pocket this summer.

Is this Liverpools year? Definitely Salah's year. Sticking it to his old club too.
