Could you proud hiker owner help me please out with a couple questions?
I've find it difficult to judge the sizing since I have never had Viberg's so far. My normal Red Wing's size, with thin black standard socks, is between 9 and 9,5US. I'll wear the IHWE-Build 5 in 9US and the RMC Field Shoe in 8 which is more like UK sizing. None of the above are roomy enough for some medium thick hiking socks.
The next thing I was wondering is the Thinsulate. Is it not to warm or even sweaty while hiking in summer with medium thick socks. How about the breathability? And if they once wet, they probably take a long time to dry?
As far I know they are like UK sizing right?
I could buy a pair in 9,5E and one in 9D.
Thanks Guys!

I can help!
I went UK9D. Mine are for sure on the large size. The D with Viberg=E with RW. These are build as tanks! So thick socks has to be! + wool insole 4mm. My call. I am US9,5D with the RW moc toe. US9,5 with engineers from RMC & TMC. And UK8,5D with Viberg engineers & last 310. They breath well. And yes take some hours to dry. Wools socks close the problem. This rought out fabrc is something! My guess is the 9D for yougood luck man!

Cool @hajduk…thanks for your feedback!
Just to be sure hajduk, you wear, a RW Moc Toe US9,5 with thin socks, and your hiker in 9D with thick wool socks + a 4mm wool insole on top of the original ones and he is still on the large size? But you are able to adjust the boot with the laces that he feels just right, even for a couple hours in mixed rough terrain, right?

Moc Toe with thick socks.
Yes insole on the top of the original ones and it fits perfect. yes, able to adjust the boots with the laces to get the right feel. Specially with the red laces. The leather ones are nice but not practical to adjust correctly the boots around the ankles
I think it was also ok to go with a uk8,5d. But i use these a lot in winter time here in Norway. -17c. this morning…️

@Max:
Max, looking good! I think you requested an Evo update on mine elsewhere. Here they are!

A little Obenauf's LP to winterize.

My hikers arrived a few days ago and today I got the chance to wear them. Bought this pair from @Appfaff , who was a total gent with his patience with my questions on sizing and waiting for the right time to ship them to me. I had strong doubts on whether these would be the right size for me. These are my first pair of 9.5 E Vibergs after all previous size 10s on 2050, 2040 and 1035. Luckily they fit just right.
They feel quite heavy and it seems to be largely due to the all rubber outsole. I’m taking them on a 6 day trip to the mountain area of Carlos Paz in Argentina where I’ll be following the World Rally Championship. The weather is expected to be cool and drizzly enough to give them a nice workout.
Really like the ‘hairy’ roughout texture to them. This roughout boot is another first for me and feel it suits the outdoorsy boot vibe very nicely. Decided I preferred the red laces over the leather ones for this occasion.
Thank you for a superb pair of boots Adam.
