Given what I just wrote above with regards to how I process the different versions, I find the cultural appropriation part of this much more of a provocation than the original expression of the symbol itself. If some just-moved-to-Brooklyn type ever tried to wokesplain their affirmative answer to that question to me, I would only reluctantly be held responsible for my actions.

Can someone explain the recent trend towards the Vibram Gloxi-Cut sole that seems to be popping up everywhere?  I just don’t get it from an aesthetic perspective and want to understand what I’m missing.

I can't explain the recent trend, but the gloxi-cut is super comfortable and the sipes improve traction.  Function over form…

I love the way it looks on everything except Moc Toe boots.

That sole with the moc toe reminds me of Buster Brown’s from the 70’s.

YeH, I saw a Red Wing resole with it and didn’t care for it - but in the IHUK job masters and some Viberg models I love it.

Here's a stupid question:  Is the Christy sole the Vibram 1010 Armortread or is it a different sole model?  4014?  What there a difference between the 1010 and the 4014?

For the record, I like the Gloxi-Cut sole…

^yeah Gloxi-Cut for life.

FWIW the 4041 is the traditional “Christy” but I think people lump all foam based soles into the Christy category.

I have the 2021 on two pairs of boots and prefer it in almost all ways…
