Like many here, I have IH jeans that don't fit me anymore. Can a tailor repurpose it to create something else? Like use the fabric to stitch it into something else?

Also, what is the best thing you can do when there is nobody to buy or wear your jeans?

You could make tote/shoulder bags out of them, (loads of vids on youtube) fun to do but you need a hd sewing machine for denim. I did make one from a pair of wrangler realtree camo cargo pants that is still in use after a couple of years. The pockets make good outside storage on the bag.
      IH eco/recovery denim totes….....now theres a thing  🙂

Well, I think the fabric is too good to be made into a Tote bag.

Say you have a pair of jeans that has become small in the thighs..Now, can't you undo the stitching, add a fabric of the same kind, and increase the room in the thighs? I know it will look very odd, but if boro patchwork can look cool, so can this, right?

Also, I would rather attempt making a Tote bag out of some cheaper fabric. Where did you get your sewing machine from?

Mnaaa… depends what you mean. The surface of the denim has a different feel to it after OD-ing. It's feel sort of dry, maybe a little less soft. But the suppleness of the fabric, how in folds and creases, that is the same.

Thanks @neph93 that answers my question. The surface feel  of the fabric is one of the things I like most about the flagship.

It definitely changes the fabric some. It becomes something in it’s own right, if you feel me. I have the IH-526J-od and love it.

^ Dion is right, I think. Sam does own a pair of IH-555-02. I believe they were his first IH jeans and they’re well worn. Pics on the appropriate thread.

Not at all. It’s a shocker wherever you see it for pretty much everyone from a Western society. I do think it’s worth trying to look past that given that it’s cultural significance before the 1930’s was massive and ancient.
