Interesting. What does the 1/2 to 1 depend on? One of my “internet shoe friends” who is the same Viberg size as me went up a half size in Wesco Jobmasters. He said the half size up were too short on him, but he’s been MIA the last couple of years. FWIW, he is typically a C width where I’m more an E width.

They are lovely aren't they. Looks like LTT Jobmaster, 7" or 8" shaft, natural double mids, the Vibram #705 sole, yellow midsole stitching, wine heavy stitching and brown upper stitching to me.

Meh… my Wesco game is fairly decent. Stops there though. It’s the result of too many misspent evenings (that stretched into nights) geeking out with their build tool on the internet. Probably should have been staring at Latinos instead...

ok, I'm super confused and am going to sound like a real noob here, but what is the difference between a "build" and a "last"?

I have been reading through there and seeing things like "a packer build, but on a XXXX last"….isn't the last a part of the build?

If you go to the Wesco site you can build your own boots,once you’ve done that it’s commonly referred to as your build. Hope this helps.

The term «build» describes the specs of the entire build. The «last» is the form (traditionally made of wood) that the boot is built around.

The last will affect the instep and height is optional on Wesco custom builds but something like that.

In Wesco-speak you get the term «toe» refered to a lot (MP toe, Boss toe, bump toe etc). What that refers to is the last. So the standard Boss last (that you have on your burlap shorties) is different from the Motor Patrol last. Both my Wesco Engineers are Boss boots built on the Motor Patrol last. So they have all the features of a Boss (straps/stay/shaft cut/stitching) but the toe shape of a MP boot.
