Went ,with a friend,today to the River Horse Brewery to get their latest Bourbon Barrel Stout. As long as we were there we decided to take the tour. During the tour they informed us that all their canning was done by Iron Heart Canning www.ironheartcanning.com  The guy got a kick out of it when I showed him the patch on the back of my jeans.

Drank the Dupont Cervisia last night. Pretty dull and not a patch on either the Saison Dupont or the Bon Væux.

On another note this is now my new favourite light, middle of the day, crush a few while watching footie, beer. Thank you Hamburg.

Forgot to mention that I finally got to drink Rain Shadow. Didn’t dissapoint. Couldn’t be more of an Imperial Stout unless a short, round, dark skinned Kaiser came up to you and rumbled SSSSTTTOOOOUUUUUTTTTT in your ear while giving you a bear hug.

A couple of years ago my son and I went to a place where you can brew your own beer. We made a chocolate,oatmeal, milk stout which we named “Bear Hug Stout” It’s been 2 years since we brewed it and it’s definitely getting better over time.

It’s really a lot of fun,great father/son bonding,but you end up with 72 750ml bottles,a lot of beer. The place is called The Brewers Apprentice.

72 big bottles? That's quite a haul. Brilliant idea actually. I've been a brew helper with my brother in law before and it's fun but demanding in terms of the necessity for precision and care. I can see it being a great father and son experience.

It is brilliant,best thing to do is get a bunch of people together and have a brewing party of sorts. This way you can do a couple of different styles and share. They’re serving you beer pretty much the entire time you’re there. We had to sober up before we could drive home.
