What's your favorite Beer?

I had a half a litre can of AleSmith Speedway's Stout at work today… The Man had me working til 7.30pm, I ain't staying sober til then...

I've had five of theirs over the last few months. I automatically pick them up when they come in as I remember your being very happy about getting your hands on some a couple of years ago. It's generally good stuff. On the one hand challenging, but refined at the same time. They have a Trippel brewed with apricot at the monopoly that I need to try. Too dark and cold for it now though.

I haven't had that before… I reckon it's not cheap seeing as how it's 8%?..

8% yes. It’s about one Euro more than the Saison and one less than the Bons Væux for a 750ml. Neither of those are expensive by Norwegian standards.

I’ve bought it already. Will drink it fresh in case I need to buy more for cellaring…

Went ,with a friend,today to the River Horse Brewery to get their latest Bourbon Barrel Stout. As long as we were there we decided to take the tour. During the tour they informed us that all their canning was done by Iron Heart Canning www.ironheartcanning.com  The guy got a kick out of it when I showed him the patch on the back of my jeans.

Drank the Dupont Cervisia last night. Pretty dull and not a patch on either the Saison Dupont or the Bon Væux.

On another note this is now my new favourite light, middle of the day, crush a few while watching footie, beer. Thank you Hamburg.

Forgot to mention that I finally got to drink Rain Shadow. Didn’t dissapoint. Couldn’t be more of an Imperial Stout unless a short, round, dark skinned Kaiser came up to you and rumbled SSSSTTTOOOOUUUUUTTTTT in your ear while giving you a bear hug.

A couple of years ago my son and I went to a place where you can brew your own beer. We made a chocolate,oatmeal, milk stout which we named “Bear Hug Stout” It’s been 2 years since we brewed it and it’s definitely getting better over time.
