How did you like that'un, neph?.. Whisky infused, meaning they added (their own) whiskey, so it's not BA on whisky… I prefer the regular version actually...
This... This is how it's done... "Rye wine, brewed with 70% rye grain bill and aged in American rye whiskey barrels."
Need that Rye wine….
I thought the Carolus was ok. It was a lot less exciting than I thought it would be, lacked a bit of body perhaps?

Finally got around to this last night. I think either my palate is screwed or my expectations are. Started off being very underwhelming but by the end of the bottle started to appreciate the balance. I guess it was more refined than I thought it would be. Still too expensive for what it is though.

Bought this one two years in a row now. Don't think I'll do it again next year. For someone who likes the style, it might be great, but I'm just not into it

Personally I think the regular BCBS has dropped in quality since 2014. I haven't bought any 2017 and don't really plan on it, there are other stouts that I think are more worthwhile.
Drank these over the weekend.
2016 Jester King Saison Americane. Great with a year on it, tastes more in line with other JK beers: funky, hay, tart. They released another batch so I need to get another bottle.
Austin Beerworks x Odell Ski Jeans. Poking fun at "session" IPAs with this being 7.5%, really malty and flavorful. 4 pack is already gone, might seek out another.

it’s definitely not for everyone. I love that shit. That looks ice cold. That stuff is meant to be served at cellar temp.

More Smuttynose. I enjoyed this a lot.
One of my fave Norwegian brewers made a Barleywine. They did a solid job. Fruity at the start, warm and boozy in the middle and slightly bitter at the end. Balanced.

This be actually made me happier than it should have done. Imho Brew Dog have lost the plot in recent years due to their rush to commercialism, but this is a really solid tasty milk stout.

i like a good milk stout. there's a local brewery here that i frequent that makes a coffee milk stout. growler fills only so you "must" buy a 32oz or 64oz bottle… its called "coffee breath" and its fantastic. made by New England Brewing Company. \
Five pm Shmive pm. you drink when you want damn it.
