@sabergirl that thing you said about moving somewhere colder… Canada's looking even more promising 😉

Haha well, I can't afford to go back to the Bay. Always wanted to check out Vancouver…

This is great news! Now just make CAD a selectable currency on the store.

The Bay Area in Northern California. I've yet to make it into Canada.

Hmmm hopefully that would that result in lower prices from our Canadian stockists…

Wasn't great news after all.  Now under CETA, duties do not have to be charged and we have all the correct export number and complete all the right export forms, Canadian customs are incapable of processing the imports correctly, we can claim and get the taxes refunded, but we simply do not have the time to mess about with every Canadian export…. Sorry

Canadian customs is no better than a bunch of monkey’s in a semi organized group.  They feck up everything they touch and I have almost hated buying things outside of Canada!

IH was the exception and I very rarely have had to pay any duties or customs when mailed via Parcel Post/Canada Post.

The absolute worst is anything coming from the U.S. to Canada.  I get nailed on customs every time!  It is the main reason why I don’t make purchases from Self Edge.  Great store, but between the exchange rate (USD-CAD) and then getting nailed with Customs/Duties, it makes a purchase very expensive.

Continuing my thoughts on Canada Customs:

Customs will charge duties on any declared amount coming from the US over $20.00 USD.  Sometimes a customs officer will let it slide and some are absolute (insert your favourite adjective).

Then UPS and Fedex have figured out they can charge a brokerage fee on top of the customs/duties for collecting the tax.  They love to add their additional percentage, and have you if you want to see your package.
