Buy the C3, then when you come at Xmas get the 28…. 😉

I like the 28. The camo pattern is a bit like dazzle camouflage of WWI. I don't want another vest. Repeat as necessary.
Here in Pa. no one would look twice at the 28. You might get some sideways looks with the C-3.  :-\

The C-3 vest is so manly, and versatile. I'm more of a fan of sizing it snug and wearing it under a jacket though, or just over a long sleeve t-shirt in less cold times.

(For those that don't know, these were originally designed as a mid-layer pieces, intended to be worn under a flight jacket.)

Everyone note that despite me explicitly saying that G-san wasn't to advocate buying both he still did it in the nicest possible way  😃

Thank you all very much for your input and feedback. It definitely helps my thinking (and it's fun). The C3 gets the popular vote, understandably so as it is bloody gorgeous and a great example of the kind of modern iterations of classics that IH is all about and that SB execute so well.

I get that the IHV-28 isn't to everyones tastes, ( @Dion if you were to describe my "look" then trying too hard is probably a good start  😉 ) but I'm weak af for this kind of thing, I think it's beautiful. Practically speaking @Appfaff is definitely on to something with the layering under my N-1 and I suspect that might be what I need for the coming winter. I'd size it to fit over a henley. While the C3 might be designed as a middle layer, I'd probably use it more in the autumn and spring as an outer layer, over shirts and hoodies.

So I'm leaning towards the camo madness at the moment…the Viking Kitten look may have to wait until the new year.

I wasn't sure if this is a good thing or not, then I remember that The Deerhunter was set in Pennsylvania, so it probably is.

Love Mae West,my absolute favorite line, which she could never get away with today, was when she asked some guy how tall he was and he said 5 feet 8 inches,to which she replied forget about the 5 feet how about the 8 inches!

Pretext: I own a pair of brown rough out White's Oxfords from Baker's Boots that I love minus the fact that I could use a tiny bit more width. I'm interested in another pair of low cut rough out shoes and I am between these two:

Another pair of White's Oxfords in black roughout:

Or a pair of Wesco JH Classic in Burlap Roughout (unsure whether to go lace to toe or standard):

I'm interested in Wesco more so based on the love they get from Iron Heart and the board here. Honestly, roughout color doesn't matter that much as I can pretty much do the same build in either shoe. More interested in any knowledge of quality/comfort on the Wesco or opinions.

I have no knowledge of White’s so I can’t give you a balanced opinion, but I own a pair of JH Classics in roughout olive burlap. They are LTT. They are heavy, solid, built like tanks and ridiculously comfortable. The LTT format makes them really easy to lace in a way that supports your foot for max comfort and stability.

As you already have a pair of White's Oxfords I would recommend the Wescos. You won't be disappointed.

I’ve had the White’s (Hathorn), the Wesco and now the Viberg oxfords. They are all awesome but in terms of quality the Wesco and Viberg are ahead of the White’s (and I say that as someone who considers the SD to be the greatest boot ever made).

Thanks all! Megatron - you hit the trifecta. Viberg was on the list too but quite expensive. I'll give the Wesco's a shot. They don't come in much more expensive than the White's actually.

Pic number two is the only correct method. Nice score btw. You pleased?
