There's no Such Thing as a Stupid Question

I am actually sampling a tapered pant at the moment. If it was made out of Chino fabric, I would call it a Chino, but I'm going to make it out of whipcord (because I love that fabric so much).
The style will be the bastard offspring of a love triangle between the IH-717, the IH-711 and the IH-710

@daltmeyer @motojobobo it should be mentioned that the IH-7## series of chino cloth pants contains different cuts. Someone ( @Dion if I remember correctly) laid it out for me a while ago on the 716 thread if you care to dig it up.
In addition to the materials, I also believe that the 7## lot number is used for military inspired clothing (the cargo pants use it) while the 8## is more work wear.
One of the fun things about IH lot numbers and codes is that they follow patterns until they don’t. There are often little idiosyncracies that explain the deviations. Of course, it maybe only me that finds this fun because I’m a nailed on nerd… ::)

Thanks everyone for answering!
Im usually a jeans guy but I might switch it up with a pair of work, engineer, or cargo pants. They all look great!

With Xmas approaching, can anyone recommend an EU source for western shirts of IH quality but in a women's cut?
thanks
Bill

My IH/Viberg Smokejumpers are 8”. I love them. Great ankle support and all round sturdiness make them perfect for winter up here, but I wear them year round for rougher activities as well as general use. I’m considering a pair of Packers or Jobmasters and will likely go for 8” again. I like to feel like I’m wearing boots when I’m wearing boots, if you see what I mean…
What exactly is your concern?

What’s an extra inch…
Sooo many possibilities for d-jokes…. [emoji1]
Unless they’re going to be used for specific activities, it comes down to preference and aesthetics I guess. I have two pairs of 6” lace ups that don’t get anywhere near the same use as my 8” ones.
