@celik official product care advice, if you haven't already seen it:

very stiff and "abrasive." Think sharkskin. Cat tongue. 00 grit sandpaper. Soak those badasses.

Those are my principles, and if you don't like them…
      Well, I have others.

Just picked mine up. On a hide a distract mission from the Missus… will likely soak next week. If I do a cold soak will there be much shrinkage? Jeans I mean not me!

          Ohhhhhh that constitutional stitching!

Some, but nowhere near full shrinkage unless you agitate the jeans whilst they soak. Even then you really need hot water and agitation for full shrinkage.

So I gave my pair a ~5 hour soak (hottest tap water, no agitation) + a gentle 40° C wash and the most noticeable shrinkage occured (as expected) in length: they lost ~ 1,6 in. The waist shrunk ~0,5 inches, I made sure I can put them back on and wore them while they were still damp. The waist stretched back pretty quickly and I managed to add another ~0,5 in so they fit now very well. Every other dimension stayed the same. Future soaks/washes will add more shrinkage in length but for now I am pretty happy. Thanks Megatron & G for this nice cut!

                Sounds promising Dion!

Can I ask why you guys soak before the wash? Won't most of the shrinkage come from the wash anyway?

                    Thanks @Giles

I don't plan on using a spin at all though, so maybe I'll be safe from creasing even though I plan on only washing?

Even with no spin, the drum rotates through the wash.  I'd seriously advise soaking them before you place in the washing machine.

If you wash these when they are new you are going to ruin them.

It's funny I was thinking about not even soaking mine as an experiment. I guess it depends on the fit.

Here they are! Heavy as all hell and a perfect fit in the waist pre-soak. Can’t wait for the hot soak to be done and these to be dry.

Waiting for my package to be delivered is agonizing. Especially now they have a live view of it's location. It has been in my area for 2 hours now. 😑

Mine got here this afternoon, currently giving them a hot-ish soak for 1 hour then 40 deg in the machine no spin.

Waist was perfect pre soak/wash, even though it did cut my hip bone a bit. I figure that's mostly cause of the nature of the denim. Excited to see if I can get into them after the wash - then they'll be perfect.

Took me 15 minutes to button up the first time….

I'm completely blown away by the 888s! This is the best fitting pair of Iron Hearts that I've ever owned. A little snug in the waist and yet plenty of room in the thighs. The denim is much darker than the last version of DWCUHRs. They are absolutely perfect.  Thanks for everyone's hard work and all the countless hours of planning and deliberation over the cut. I love them. You guys are the best.

I decided to soak them, except the waist.

I’ll second that. There is a lot of love in the creation of these and I can’t wait to get them going. Might do the cold soak and leave the waist out if that works.

Mine stuck in UK due to ups delay. Supposed to deliver today but not sure when the next delivery window is. Most likely next week.

I briefly submerged the waist just to get it wet. Except the leather patch because I don't want it to crack in the hot water.

Mine shrank 1” in the waist as expected. And maybe 1.5” in length. Going to try get them on now. My thumbs are expecting a battle.
