I'd amend that to just, "Never buy a new vehicle."

^truth!

While I am in the camp of believers that new vehicles offer their own set of problems, certain vehicles actually are better off purchased brand new, or at least equipped with a CPO warranty.
The 2016 Land Rover Discovery Sport was actually cheaper to buy brand new this past June than it is right now to buy a used version. The incentives on last year model variants left over can carry brand incentives where as buying used, you will simply
Pay MSRP minus residual depreciation.Once again, this theory only applies to about 2% of cars, but if you want/need a warranty, or you can get a new car around the price of a 1 or even 2 year model because of rebates, enjoy the lower financing of the newer model.
Take his with a grain of salt as I DID just buy a 15 year old Toyota that's cost me 10% of what a new one retails for today lol [emoji23]

The whole, "A truck is so much more functional than a car" argument starts to fizzle when we're talking about $70K trucks. There's a very good chance someone spending that kind of money on a truck will rarely, if ever, put the bed to use or let it see a rutted dirt road.
Personally this is true for me because I rarely tow anything, however the majority of the people I know that have 70k plus trucks get their moneys worth and then some. They tow shit all the time.

Ageee with @Appfaff , resale valuenon trucks has been solid for a good while now.

So, White Oak is shutting down. The owner of just over a year is International Textile Group run by Wilbur Ross, a billionaire Wall St ass swipe who is also Cheezit's Secretary of Commerce. Nice going fellas! Keep those jobs in Murica!

Yep. Guess we should have seen this coming a year ago

So every year at this time my company plays the "will we or won't we" game with our annual bonus, which is "meant" to be payed October 1st but never is. This year I was planning on booking our family holiday for next year with the money if they gave a bonus, which they usually do.
For weeks I have been watching our perfect holiday for next summer, available at a great price, and for weeks the company has delayed telling us if we have a bonus or not. So finally this week they confirmed the bonus, I go to book the holiday andnthe price has gone up by almost £800 !
So we found the same break elsewhere for £400 more than we wanted to pay, all due to my company delaying the announcement…..again
Wait.....this should be a first world problem

Indeed. Acquired by a private equity firm and will likely have its assets stripped/sold. Scumbags of the highest order. Kinda surprised a company like Levi's doesn't come in and buy the plant. It would give them complete control of the US denim market.
I wonder what this will mean for US denim companies that rely on Cone?

The definition of a first world problem, you insufferable tosser… Where are the mods when you need 'm?..
(Although that really sucks...)
Can't you feel my pain? I had to spend "a bit" more to get my expensive foreign holiday
-
Regarding Cone, their denim actually manages to capture the flat and even characteristics of true vintage denim better than most. It's really not my thing, but as a part of history I'm sad to see it go.
-
Shame to see Cone go, long history! I have some RRL which which uses their denim that I like.

Oh and as for trucks, Hi-Lux. IF you really must go absolutely anywhere, then Mercedes Unimog.
-
The Unimog is at least in Europe a Truck and because of that you need a Truck License to drive it. The G-Wagon went the same Route as the American Offroad Cars, from a usuable Workhorse for the Army to a Luxurs City Vehicle, the chepeast Model is Around 80k Euros. The new X-Class Pickup is a Nissan Navara in a different Packeing.

CLUTCH haven't released a magazine with original content for some time now…
Now they are showing their greater lack of originality by opening a store just a short walk from a well established London retailer...
