Thanks @neph93 - I also love how work shirts can be made to look like a tailored dress shirt. This one has a nice length to it, and the roomy opening creates a nice sleek look. I usually stay away from lightweight fabrics in workshirts since I do not like the inevitable "button-pull" along the placket, but the sizing worked so that the shoulder and arms are not baggy, but the best and "belly" area are not too fitted.

@manufc10 - thanks dude - my wife was kind enough to let me go a bit crazy during the SE sale this weekend lol Can't really attest to how breathable the material is, but my guess is quite. It has larger waffles than the indigo (per a post i read earlier in the thread) which means the fabric is not quite as dense. It feels great on, substantial but not "heavy."  Compared to an oxford it's quite heavy, but compared to other IH shirts, it's light lol

Did you end up sizing up to an XXL?

@manufc10 - I did - I went XXL on all the new gear. Westerns/UHFs I usually size up anyways, and the measures for the 172 were a little too snug in XL - especially with the stretchy material - glad I did. I feels comfy over the 1610, and could probably work over my IHTB-06 if needed. I think the solid black would look killer over the reed/white stripe of the 06.

Approx how much shrink did you get out of the shirt?  I just got an XXL from SE since I was afraid the XL would be too small for me in the shoulders and waist…  The XXL I have could benefit from a shrink but wasn't sure how much these would shrink up... probably need it to shrink close to a half size... better to keep the XXL or try out XL?

FWIW, I kept the XXL and decided to do a hot wash… shrank enough for me to be happy with it. If it's helpful for anyone else, pre/post measurements below...

                                Pre — Post
                                Shoudlers - 20 — 19
                                Length - 29 — 28.5
                                P2P - 23.75 —23
                                Waist - 22.5 — 22.5
                                Opening - 23.5 — 23
                                Sleeves - 26 — 25.75
                                Sleeve Opening - 5 — 4.75

Could probably benefit from another really hot wash and tumble to see if i can get a little more shrink out of it...

???  An inch in the shoulders and only 0.25in in the sleeves?  This weave is symmetrical and I would expect similar shrinkage in all directions.

Is it too hot to wearing IHSH-172-BLK in tropical/hot climate country in South East Asia such as Singapore or Indonesia?

I live in a warmer climate in the southeast US and would say that I probably would not wear this in any "hot" climate… the shirt is breathable due to the waffle fabric but I can't say that it's a particularly cool shirt to wear in hot weather.  Of all the IH shirts I own though (several UHF's and some lighter weight flannels and some chambrays), I'd say it's one of the most breathable.  I'd say this shirt is most comfortable for me with a light t-shirt underneath when the weather is in the 60's or 70's.

If it helps, my family is from Thailand and I visit there frequently, typically in the winter months... If I were traveling to southeast Asia in December then I probably only would consider wearing this at night time there as I feel it would be too warm to wear during the day... that being said I see people there all the time wearing pants/jeans and long sleeve shirts in weather where I would be only comfortable in shorts and a short sleeve t-shirt...

                                          Many thanks Tangfj, that's help.
I love the look of the IH shirts but mostly i can't wearing it, the climate is too hot in South East Asia.
When I saw this shirt thought it will be cool enough to wearing it in South East Asia, it look more breathable and lightweight. but I am not sure to wearing it on daily basis since the temperature here is about 30' Celcius to 32' Celcius .
With the most IH shirts price range it such a waste not to wear it quite often. That's why some time I hold my self not to purchase the shirts.
