There's no Such Thing as a Stupid Question

Hiut's have an internal canvas waistband on their jeans. It doesn't retard waist stretch on them.
Why don't others also use the same thing?
If everyone made their jeans the same way, that would be boring, lol!
But really though, if you buy your pants with a 32" waist (for example), and you don't want the waist to stretch past 32" you only need to wear a belt that is tightened to 32".

Stretch of the waistband is smart in my opinion. It stretches to your personal size so it gives a better fit to a greater range of body shapes and not just to the ones who are lucky enough to have the exact body measurements needed.

The problem is that I buy size 31 when my waist needs size 30. That said, I will try and see if a belt stops it from stretching.

Anyone shorten/hem any IH denim shirts? If so were you pleased with the end result? Was it hard to find a tailor/seamstress to do this?
Have never altered any clothes except jeans inseam.

I'm having a shirt I picked up from the Outlet taken in at the sides at the mo. I'll let you know how that goes.
Mine is a work shirt and one of the issues is that any major work means bye-bye to the gusset. Another thing is replicating IH construction. My seamstress made it known that replicating the triple stitching and felled seams was going to be expensive. I'm going to eat the cost this time just for the sake of the experiment.
I know @hadtoo555 had some pretty major alterations done to some of his shirts.

Hey Giles, will ironheart be involved in the "Denim Days" New York Festival?

@Giles Like the 1955 or 888, are there any plans to introduce a wider cut in chinos and other pants for squatbros, to borrow a term I learned from @TrickHell? Thanks!
