      Mrs Snowy did a control test on our last trip. She took 1 roll of 1600 through the xray scanner 5x and all other rolls were hand processed. The xray scanned photos looked horrible, you could see the xray passing over the film. It looked a bit like waves of light leaks where some bits were stronger, others weaker.

      Each pass through a machine makes it worse. For 1600 and above ask for hand processing :).

      Here's a qantas posting/article I found after my last trip;
      http://www.qantas.com./travel/airlines/travel-security/global/en

      So QF even suggested it. If you get lip, just point them to this webpage if flying w/ Qantas and it goes very smoothly.

                  @dylantbmayes Oh crap. It was supposed to be hp5. Yeah it's a brilliant film. Although I haven't shot much b&w, I've been reading rave reviews about them. I think I was thinking of something else when I typed hp4. This was shot using the lomo lca+. My first roll back around 2007/8 was badly underexposed. So i used the lomo as a precaution first before I try it on my canon AE 1

                        hahaha i think i was looking at bmw hp4 race bikes. the hp4 is always on my mind, hence why i may have typed that subconsciously. yeah the 3200 is amazing, but i'd be a wee bit unwilling to pay for such high iso film when 400 does the trick and you could push the iso up to 800 or even 1600..

                            well my lomo lca is very much a point and shoot in a sense that the aperature and shutter speed cannot be manually adjusted. however, there's an option to dictate the iso which in turn dictates the light meter settings. by pushing over the iso rating the film is on, i've read that the ilford films can easily handle beyond it's iso rating and shoot grainier and brighter images without the risk of underexposing..

                                  Yeah Louis I hear you. The whole appeal for me of the 300PF is that is is barely bigger than the 24-70.  The more portable, the more use it gets.

                                      oh. didn't realise that. not sure the different weight between canon and nikon's same lens. but my everyday is a f2.8 24-70L lens. as it is, it's heavy enough..
