Coffee

I do it in a Chemex as well but prefer the aeropress for that.
If you use lets say 300g of water for the pour over, just use 150g and let it drip on 150g ice inside the Chemex. Its really that easy.

Yes,Just fill the basin with ice,but the amount of ice will have an effect on the taste. You have to experiment. In the end the combination of the melted ice and the water equals the same water to coffee ratio as if you had brewed it normally. There are quite a few videos on YouTube. I have a coffee scoop that I've been using forever and I,at this point, know exactly how many scoops to use. My brother in law keeps telling me to weigh the coffee, just in case, I loose the scoop.

@Anesthetist I thought I was crazy for preferring the iced coffee at St. Louis Bread Company over most cold brews that I've had, which to me often taste like house paint smells. At least @JCMx800 is with me.

We checked out dark arts coffee in london. Hard to find by chance but worth the extra walk.

^More great pictures Flo, how was the coffee @Max Power ?

Thank you, it was awesome. Plus the people were super friendly and played good music. Was good hanging out there. Also not too far is crypt of the wizard and the hackney farm, so its worth going to hackney.

I studied at The University of London, Queen Mary College, 1988-1991 and lived on the Hackney Road. Was a really diverse, interesting and bustling place back then. Enjoy

@den1mhead Cool! Locals said it changed the last years - i liked it there. On my instagram account (rise_above_1984) you can see pictures of the hackney farm. That place was fantastic.

Local Barista and my fav coffee shop said I should get a Kalita 155 Steel Wave Dripper. Ordered!
Picked up a 185 a few days ago and have been really impressed with the quality of the cup.
I love how far down the rabbit hole you all go in the name of caffeine!
Thanks for the recommendation!

@Max Power
Nice Earache/Napalm Death tee. I can't remember if I saw them or Bolt Thrower in concert many years ago. Good times

@budpatch nice on the 185. It's been my mainstay for years. I do go to a chemex if I want to go all out, but the 185 is a really high bar/sweet spot.
In random coffee news I'm onto my second cup of Cup of Excellence coffee for the spring/summer. Hints of a panama geisha, but more chocolatey back pallet and body. In heaven to be drinking such wonderful coffee this early in the season.

After being inspired by what some of you guys are doing, I thought I'd treat myself to a starter pack and a Kalita. Brewiing Jug will be here later today and then its Liftoff.

Normally I drink cold brew all summer, most of the winter too…but the Kalita has me sipping on warm Puerto Rican goodness in the heat of August!
Enjoy!
