I don't know.  But as I deal only with Japanese, I thought I ought to do what they do….

Here is a good example of what I tried to describe above.

If measured to the centre seam, these would be 12" in the thigh, but if measured accurately (that is the full width of the thigh), then they measure 13.5".  The difference between the 2 ways of measuring will vary dependendent upon the cut.

But, the Japanese will tell you that the larger of the 2 measurements is the accurate way to measure:

I have made same error, measuring from crotch seam. I'll have to make my comparisons again.

          I'm glad this came up.

I emailed SE and they said they measure 1inch below the crotch and straight out. So I'm still confused…

that is the only way to measure the thigh, every other way is just the wrong way.
90degrees in from outer seam full length and double for full measurement.

key measuring points is aways the larges or smallest part of you.

my first IH about 5 full days of wear.
size 34 is a very snug fit on me especially around the thigh.
i could get in a 33 but its pretty much painted on.

                  my measurements are

                  waist 34in
                  hip[seat/butt area] 40in
                  thigh 25in
                  inleg 31in

they have already have loosen up abit, tight but not uncomfortable the chainstitched side seams helps alot on the comfit. "sigh" the curse of rugby back in the school days.

i wont be trying the devils fit or BB's myself but doesn't mean i wont be buying them 😉

                          This nails it.
My hip/seat is approx same as Jimmy's and thighs are just a tad smaller. I usually wear W32 jawns. That's what karate does to your lower body…
So when I have saved enough and not spent my jawnsfunds to shirts or something I'll be getting 634s W32's...

Would you recommend DC4 as an alternative instead?

Not to beat a dead horse,  Shoke did a very good job articulating this but the label is saying front rise instead of thigh on the website how we measure section.  Threw me for a second, but then I read description and it made perfect sense.  Just wanted to let someone know…....
