There's no Such Thing as a Stupid Question

we could start a rental property thread in "Buying and Selling"…...
Sounds promising.
It does, doesn't it. It's a pretty great idea when you think about it given the global spread of forum members.
That's what I was thinking too. We're all over the globe and I know I like to travel. I'm sure there are others on this forum who like to travel or have properties available for rent. This is great.

Does any one have any experience with Gutermann indigo polycotton thread? I'm looking to do some
Minor denim repairs and want to use an indigo thread as I don't have access to the OG constructional stitching. I figure the next best thing to the yellow thread that is used would be an indigo thread that hides my lack luster stitching skills -
It's strong and good. But a bit thin. You really need a "36", this is what we use in UK.

If you are buying something from us soon, we can pop some in the parcel.

Thank you Giles. I might just have to now… what color would you recommend for the 634s?
-
It's the yellow stitching that wore away. But I imagine blue is what I need so my lackluster stitch work will be "hidden."

@manufc10 (and everyone else) are right in saying that it is a hobby, and hence not logical or rational.
But the thing about Iron Heart products is that they get better with age. If I am buying a new jeans without abusing the previous one, I am not doing justice to either of those pair of jeans.
Finally, I am also deep down the rabbit hole and possibly no better than you. It is just that I don't have enough money, lol~

@Sreeni I started out with one pair of 634 XHS and only wore those for a year, 2.5 years later, they are my favorite pair….That being said, I have also acquired the following IH denim:
BB XHS
634 21oz
633 UHR (@neph93, I wear these in the summer...you Norwegians need to toughen up a bit)Not a huge collection by any means, but @UnTucked said it best "Fashion/style is a hobby for many of us here, and that alone can be the justification." I have been interested in different fits and denims. Plus, I have found some of the denim is better suited for situations than others. I wear my 633 UHR with sandals and tshirts in the summer, I wear my BB XHS with boots in more "dressy" occasions, I wear my 634 21oz around the house doing chores and in situations where they may encounter getting more roughed up than I would like my other pairs to get.
Its all a matter of personal taste and everyone's is different. Whats awesome here is we have a market place where you can sometimes pick up a pair you want to experiment with for a price that is typically less than the full purchase cost. And then if they don't work like you wanted, you can usually turn around and re-sell them. I have done that with lots of IH items.
@Dstauffer How many times did you have to repair the XHS? I prefer to wear my natural indigo jeans (TW634-NSP) for places which might not be very comfortable with excessive fades.
It is a good thing that there aren't many jeans that fit my thigh for my waist size of 30. Well, that is until the 888 jeans are launched.

@Sreeni I feel you, it's an expensive hobby, no doubt. And you are absolutely right that more jeans=less wear=less evolution.
Personally I know I have more jeans than I need. In my day to day I'm a slow fader as I work at a high school so I use newer jeans for work and rotate a few pairs. Every summer I do a lot of building work, carpentry and so on and I choose one pair to be work jeans. This accelerates evolution drastically! That pair either gets trashed so badly they can't be worn or becomes my favourite worn pair. Here's my work pair from two summers ago: http://www.ironheart.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=434.msg462505#msg462505
This summer I'm using my 666XHS for work. I'm excited to see how trashed they can get.

@neph93 Great work with the jeans. And yes, I am hoping that my next IH jeans become airy and pajama in a way only IH jeans can.
In fact, you have encouraged me to write a diary or maintain some kind of log of the evolution of my jeans. Thanks!
The 21oz is the best for airy and soft. But maybe you have that denim already?
This forum is a great place to document how your jeans develop btw. Everyone loves looking at fit pics and fades.

It's up to the individual, How do I justify having about 100 fishing rods? It's completely unjustifiable, but fishing is my passion…How does anyone need more than 1 house, 1 bicycle or 1 car, they should not have to.....it's up to them what they do with their money....
Amen.
Or - Because i can.

I submitted a longish suggestion on nubuck belts today with the intent that it to go to the IHB-05 thread…as I finished writing it I made changes to the 'subject' field and posted it. Now I can't find it and it never showed up in the intended thread.
Is it irretrievably lost? -
@Sreeni I had some minor work done to the hems after about 2 years, but that was due to the fact that I wear them over my boots and in the winter the snow, water, and salt really take a toll on the fabric. I will likely be sending them for a more significant repair/reinforcement here soon before fall hits (full hem work, ankle area, back pocket, and knee), but I have had no crotch blow out yet.
They are my favorites at this point…
