No bottle as this brewery is growler fill only. Boombox Payola IPA, definitley one of the most exciting new breweries in western Canada

Picked up Prairie Funky Gold Citra, Pe-Kan and a bottle of this year's DFH 120 IPA.
Haven't been buying as much beer lately, moving in about a month's time and I'm already going to have to transport a fridge full of beer…

Couple of stouts to round off last night.

This was an OK effort at a dessert stout, made with cocoa nibs and espresso. Had a thin, acidic base though. Came off a bit unbalanced:

This was fantastic. They used Saison yeast to give it a twist. Worked brilliantly. Get some if you can:

@neph93: there's now an even more potent (lethal?) version of that Kees 1750 stout, aptly named the 1850… Gonna try it asap...

          Meanwhile... Time for piña colada!..

I'll be keeping eyes peeled for that  ???

I'm considering launching a "get to know traditional German beer" project, because I know little about it but more clearly as an excuse to buy more beer. This is what the monopoly has available from Germany… https://www.vinmonopolet.no/Nettbutikk-kategorier/%C3%98l/c/%C3%B8l?q=%3Arelevance%3AmainCategory%3A%C3%B8l%3AvisibleInSearch%3Atrue%3AmainCountry%3Atyskland&searchType=product

Any tips on where to start or is it all crap?  :o

First of all: ze Germans (with their notorious efficiency) have ze cheapest beer whilst maintaining high quality (unless you buy supermarket pils of course)… It isn't uncommon at all to pay 1-1.5€ for 0.5l beers that are FABULOUS in Ze Fourth Reich.

From that list, here are my recs:

Thank you! I'll order them pronto.

And thank you! Lovely to get a reminder of how brilliant that show is.

                    Good call Eli.
                    Definitely the Aventinus!!! @neph93

This following two dark beers are worth to compare. Very different.

One of the best Schneider. Tap7 Weisse.

Kellerbier. Perfect summer beer. Drink it cold.

Another kind of style is Kölsch. Top-fermentation filtered ale. Here a good one direct from cologne. Perhaps you need more than one, to get the special taste.  😉
                    https://www.vinmonopolet.no/vmpSite/Land/Tyskland/Früh-Kölsch/p/9872602

If you need tro try a Pils, this is a better one. Big brewery, but ambitious to get back to the roots.

Got my Evil Twin brewing care package yesterday. Had this last night, pretty darn good:

And I'm drinking this as I type, really tasty:

Didn't care for the Double Fudge… But I'm gonna try it again...

Assembled a new chest of drawers... Which means my brother put it together whilst I thought about what beer to celebrate it with...

First few sips I found it ordinary, but it grew on me. Don't know why the name, if anything it had heavy overtones of bitter chocolate or black forest gateau.
