The above Golf has to be the most iconic hot hatches of all time. Im not a huge fan of them but they spearheaded the 'Hot Hatch'.

I have a mk2 Golf G60 Edition One. Modified 200bhp.

Also an Audi B8 S4 Avant which is the family car although it doesnt hang around with ~400bhp.

I recently traded in a Mercedes B class (same platform as the A and i drove a few A courtesy cars) and I was not impressed.
Drove badly. Ride and handling poor. Interior plastics poor. Cheap feeling car.
An Audi is better built, no doubt.
