IHSH-163 - Wool Work Shirt - Grey, Charcoal and Olive
-
I'm seriously debating the olive also but waiting to try the fit of the grey first before deciding.
@neph93: when you mentioned that the sizing is different is that from asking the IH to take measurements for you? I ask because there is only one size table shown.

I bought the olive in XL on release and only noted later that "Giles wears XL". I tend to take one size up from G. As it turned out the olive fit perfectly, but couldn't have been any smaller, as I would have ended up with the dreaded button pull over the chest. When I ordered the grey I had it measured by Lindsay and it came up marginally smaller in width than the olive, but the same length in body and arm. So I sized up and hot washed the grey. Worked out well.
Generally speaking there are often small variations between all shirts. I think IHUK only publish different sizing tables when the differences are marked in one or more dimension. The difference here wasn't massive, just half an inch or so in the chest, width and opening. It's just that the olive was already marginal and half an inch here or there, would have made a difference for me as I cannot live with button pull over the chest.
There have only ever been one or two sizes of each colour in stock at a time so it's impossible to say whether or not this was a one off or if all grey's were slightly slimmer. I suspect it was just an example of acceptable margins of error that show up when clothes are cut and sewn by real people.

Thanks @neph93 for the clarification. My grey should be here in the next day or two and hopefully the sizing works well.
From the three IH shirts I have currently I've found that I have to go up to XXL to fit the shoulders but leaving the arms a little too long - the arm length on the XL is actually a better fit. I need to put Haraki-san's fit models through some shoulder exercise routines so the fits can adjust accordingly…

Damn, this is a nice shirt! The XXL fits perfectly through the shoulders and chest, will need to be careful while washing I presume to avoid too much shrinkage. Dry cleaning perhaps?
Now I am eyeballing that olive green…

Annnnd… the olive is inbound.
