Definitely a solid choice. I'm sure he'll be a big fan if it.

          Yep - he's a fan…

I'm looking for a Hinderer XM-18 3" for myself btw... If anyone has one for sale or has a lead... Preferably non-flipper, but doesn't matter much... Will keep an eye on Bladeforums B/S thread of course but they go fast on there... And mostly 3.5's for sale as of right now - too big for me...

There's an article at The Guardian about the author's relationship with his kitchen knives. It's an excerpt or precis from his book, and an interesting read.

I think I'll have to check out the book.  That was a solid teaser.

@Seul have you taken a look at Rick's newer model, the Half Track - that he launched last year? Similar blade length but the handle is beefier and (I feel) much easier to maintain a solid grip with when in-hand. The production versions are starting to filter out now.

Bit too bulky imo… I see the XM-18 3" is available in stores now... Tempting...  😎

I can take a shot of it next to a 3.5 XM if you wish to gauge size. It is really not that large compared to the 3".

Front right 90%, left rear the other 10%

My small, thin knives get the bulk of the duty…

                                      Thanks - but I don't like the bulky handle…  😶

Right front pocket. When wearing shirts that might snag it out of the pocket: left chest pocket.

Right front usually. If its tip-up carry then sometimes left rear. Very rarely sometimes IWB at 3 o'clock.
