I assumed it was the new 18oz vintage fabric.  @Kiya is it the 18oz vintage?

The base 18oz denim is from the 666s: http://www.selfedge.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=678
Because of how much the overdye process shrinks the fabric it's nice to start with something with a more abrasive hand-feel so that when the denim is overdyed you're left with something that still has some weave unevenness to it.

Wow, that's brilliant as it's amazing and one of the most beautiful denims. Thanks, kiya.

No sorry, we actually had the short sleeve version made just for Self Edge because we thought the fabric looked  better made into a short sleeve shirt.

Studio D'Artisan Memphis x Zimbabwe Jeans, Natural Indigo Hank-Dyed Jeans, & Steel Buckle Belts

Studio D'Artisan is an especially exciting brand for us because of how well they still push the envelope for a brand that's been around since the late 70's.  This month we've receive two very special new jean models and a new belt in two colors.

Studio D'Artisan's newest denim is a 50/50 blend of Memphis and Zimbabwe cotton fibers. Memphis cotton is known for its short staple giving the fabric a slubby look while Zimbabwe cotton is known for its long staple giving the fabric a soft hand. The blend of these two gives the denim a unique hand feel while allowing the short staple to peek through for a little bit of slub action.

For this year's natural indigo dyed jean SDA has made the heaviest weight denim they've ever done using this method of indigo hank dying. Normally a jean like this will top out at about 16oz but they've produced one which clocks in at 18.5oz.

Both of these jeans along with two new steel buckle belts are available now at all of our stores and in our online store.

very nice!!! considering these as my next pair- i love the 18 oz denim and wanted a black od pant since some time. curious how these will evolve!

I'm blown away by the fabric–both look and feel.  I was pleasantly surprised by the black/blue hue created by the indigo peaking through the OD.
Looking forward to the new evo process.

And thanks to @bloodnthunder for the cuff technique--so glad I didn't get these hemmed!

Based on this pic the color looks nothing like my 634 OD (21oz) - this looks more blue than black.  Very nice though, I must say.

the black/blue tint looks so good: i'm sure they'll show a great & beautiful evo! also i'll always prefer to cuff my pants like that too, if length and weight allows and won't result in big bulky monster cuffs.

damn, i'm so hot for these pants now, i hope i can resist. can't justify another pair right now.
