Someone told me it wasn't that bad but after being scarred for life thanks to the tin pan drums on st anger I'm in no rush to listen to it.

It's not bad at all if you skip each song after three minutes…

Yeah it's way too long. There are some cool songs, but as a whole I can't say that I'm enjoying it too much. Best song is obviously the "Ronnie Rising Medley", as Metallica is like the greatest cover band of all times haha.

Metallica has steadily gone downhill ever since Cliff Burton's passing.  Jason was still ok but Cliff was who made those original albums what they are.  Then Nirvana came along and changed music causing Kirk Hammett to essentially give up on writing a decent solo.  Ever since then their music has felt progressively more lazy.  They've really turned into a prog-metal band with no progression throughout the songs.  They used to have 5-6 riffs in one song.  Now they have 5-6 riffs in one album.

I know this is controversial, but I loved Lulu (not the Scottish singer). I'm a massive fan of Lou Reed, not so much Metallica. This album is a tough listen but so rewarding. Junior Dad is a classic. Here's James Hetfield claiming he is the table. Enjoy!

Smiley face indeed! Opeth is without a doubt my favourite band. Deliverance is one of their best "live songs" as well imo. Thankfully I've been fortunate enough to see them a couple of times.
