Those new boots are fantastic!!  😘

Is this the MP or Boss toe?  Is this sort of like a mass-market Wesco "Narrow" that was only sold in Japan?

MP…..It's a new "Vintage" Boss that Wesco are releasing next year.  The black will be readily available, the brown, initially just from us.....

Can you give anymore details on the brown, (midsole colour, outer sole) or are the essentially the same apart from the leather colour?

I think the Wescos feel better as designed with the curved heel and standard lifts.

Best looking and best feel.  Wesco makes their boots that way by default for a reason.  They've kinda figured this whole boot thing out, haven't they?

                so final decision

                single or double midsole?

I kinda like how the single looks but I also like the sturdiness of double midsoles.

I'd say go for what you like the look of the best. Wesco's are sturdy af with or without the double mid.

It may be a personal opinion, but I always feel that Double Mids look best of "work" style boots and single mids always looks better on sleek style boots.  If your personal style is more work wear based, like a lot of us here, the double mid fits that aesthetic really well.  If you have a more sleek and modern style, singles would fit into your wardrobe better IMHO. Also if you wear more regular fit or looser pants, double mids look great and help the pants drape well.  If you wear more slim fitting pants, single mids will aid in that chosen aesthetic. Although plenty of guyes on here wear 555s with double mids and 55' with singles.  I had some single mid engineer boots and found they always looks too "dainty" on my feet, especially with more regular cut pants. If I even buy another pair they will have double mids.

                    Hope that helps @Americanaaa

Might depend on your shoe size too - I def. wouldn't describe any of my bigfoot engineers as "dainty" 🙂

Remember a couple of years ago when there was that trend of wearing work boots with triple mids and Vibram 100 soles?  The soles were like two inches thick and guys kept asking how long it would take to break them in, because they couldn't bend their feet in their $700 custom built boots.

                        Those were fun times.

My size 9 shoes usually look like ballet slippers on me so it's nothing new haha

I had a pair of Whites with triple mids and Vibram 100's. No need to break them in, your foot just rolled as you walk…...but yeh, hideously impractical  😠

In my opinion, doubles look better with half soles. Singles look better on full soles. If you go doubles, be prepared for a prolonged break in. My 8 month old Jobmasters are just starting to flex

Can anyone give me an opinion on the slip resistance of the 430 outsole? I want to build a pair for work and need the best option for oily finished floors

I've got 430's on my work boots and I've liked them so far.  No oily surfaces, but they've been gripping well in caustic, water, and beer soaked floors.  Also seem to do decently well with ice/snow…

Thanks brother! I'm gonna ask Chris for his opinion as well and try to form some consensus. I know the 705 is like skates on our shop floors without a drop of oil
