Opposite ends of the spectrum , but both were really sweet without being over bearing. The doughnut break actually managed to taste like fried dough, in a great way.

Had a productive weekend for beer purchases. Spent too much money but scored 8 BCBS regulars and 1 coffee, 5 barrel aged Ten Fidys, and 2 Wicked Weed Dark Ages. Now just have to find time to drink it all.

Hitachino Nest Espresso Stout… Yeah it's 4pm: sue me... I've been up since 5am...

Edit: if you ever encounter it, buy it by the dozens if you like coffee oriented beer. It's simply delicious and rather light at 7.5% abv!..

Most Hitachino Nest beers are well done.  I especially like their White and XH beers.  They also do a special edition salty plum beer, Anbai, that's worth grabbing, if you get the chance.
