IH-526J Indigo 21oz Selvedge Denim Type III

Just got this in a Large after returning the medium that was super-fitted but wouldn't allow any layering. The Large could be just a smidgen tighter though, so my question is, will this shrink at all and how to go about doing that? Generally, I'd wait for as long as possible for the first wash to "lock-in" the best fades, so I'm not sure how to go about this. Perhaps y'all can shed some light here?

From memory I don't think the 21oz does shrink @Johnny Bravvo

I think a hot soak and tumble dry will shrink it. Maybe just do a hot soak and hang dry to be safe. You'll still get your fades locked in once you start wearing it.

21oz doesn't shrink. You can boil it and it wouldn't shrink (although you'd fekk up the patch).

I remember shrinking it slightly with a very hot soak but it stretches back (and beyond) pretty easily.

^that is more correct, yes. It'll tighten some, but it lasts one wear only.

Hmmm. I thought all denim, even rinsed, shrinks a little on the first hot wash. Would combining that with a hot dryer session work? No big deal as I can just layer to fill out either way.

When we wash, we don't rinse.  We wash in massive industrial machines, we give the garments super heat, severe stress and a proper seeing too…...

The great thing about the 21oz jackets is the way the hefty construction means they keep their shape even though the denim gets so very, very soft after breaking in. Enjoy!
