Barbecue til 3am yesterday… Housewarming party at my mate the day before... Feeling a wee bit fragile today...

The only pic I took was this:

Which was a-ok… Drank a 2008 Rochefort 8 before that, which was better  😃

Started with this yesterday: http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/boon-oude-geuze-black-label/367485/ Tad boring, but definitely great geuze...

Too bad about the Prairie Gold.  I like it, though I've only had it on it's own.  I can see how it could suffer following something else, though.

I shouldn't have drank it after the 3F… But I had to pick something from the refrigerator and there's no geuze in it yet...

I will pick up another bottle and try it on its own...

Btw, this is the bottle next to the De Cam beers: http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/to-ol-peardon-my-french/393446/ How freakin awesome does this sound?..

Cider-like Saison brewed with Pears and aged on Sauterne barrels. This crisp ale is straw coloured and sparkling using only Pilsner Malt and Unmalted Wheat, however we used Cider yeast and brewed it with Pears and used Calypso hops, to layer this beer with fruit flavours. This beer was then infused in Sauterne barrels, a sweet French wine, with Brett added into the barrels.

Mikeller Citra DIPA. Wow, very well done, will keep these on hand.

I know pretty funny. My buddy surprised me with the Evil Twin, I already had my roster lined up. Had a few others too. Maine Beer Co Mean Old Tom, Dogfish Pennsylvania Tuxedo, really a random hodge podge. I did just come from a sharing event so I guess it was par for the course. Tried all these at the tasting

Been a little while, here's what I've been drinking lately.

Saint Arnold Bishops Barrel 12: Christmas ale aged in sauvignon blanc barrels with cherries.
Pretty tasty, but felt a little light. Needed a bit more kick, but I like the influence of the wine barrels.

Prairie Phantasmagoria. New double IPA from one of my favorite breweries.
Really tasty, high in hop flavor but really drinkable at 8% ABV.

Avery Pump[KY]n. Pshew, 15% ABV and a bit too sweet. Interesting beer though.

Prairie / TRVE Sour Red farmhouse ale.
I have to say this is the first beer from Prairie that I've really struggled to drink. I love sour beers but this was just not good. I didn't pour it down the drain but I really thought about doing it…

The Bruery White Oak. I love this beer.
The combination of wheat and barrel aged mix is just great. 12.5% ABV also packs a punch.

                              Founders Sumatra Mountain brown ale.
Picked up a four pack of this. This beer is awesome. So much coffee.
If there was a beer I could drink it the morning it would be something like this. Very impressed.

@Broark Like founders beers a lot, especially their Breakfast Stout and their Porter. Recently had some of their KBS,which was pretty good, albeit very strong. Couldn't help but notice the bottle of Makers in the background of all the pictures. Bourbon is really my passion, with Makers being one of my favorites. I'm a Makers Ambassador, and brought Giles a bottle of Cask Strength Makers when I visited him in October. Haven't had regular makers since they came out with the Cask Strength version. I'm in NJ and a lot of the really cool limited edition beer doesn't make it here. Have to make it to Austin some day,as I also love BBQ.–Jett

@Jett129 very nice, I like Founders beers a lot too. I didn't manage to get any KBS this year sadly, but maybe I'll come across some next time around. The Sumatra Mountain was a nice surprise since I had never had it before, I also really like their Backwoods Bastard ale. Most of their beers in general are solid.
I also like Maker's quite a bit, although I tend to drink more beer than hard liquor. My dad's side of the family is from Kentucky so it's in my blood to have a proclivity for bourbon! I'll have to check out the Cask Strength stuff sometime if I see it in the local liquor stores, I've had the 46 and it's also great.
If you ever make it down to Austin I'll show you where the best beer and barbecue are, same goes for anyone else on the forum!

@Jett129 I think Franklin's is great, I've been many times throughout the years. But I think that there are other places that are just as good (if not better) with no real wait. Or you could even take a day trip out to Lockhart and try some really great barbecue.
