@neph93 those 714's look great there. The hem width always put me off these but it looks alright there. You had them tapered or anything?

No, it's how they're styled. Firstly they're a little big  on me so the thighs are baggy. The big external pockets add to the width up top. Secondly I have short legs (31" inseam) and these are un-hemmed, so I roll the bottoms up which makes the lower leg go inward. Combined these two things create the impression of taper.

The whole outfit is an expensive version of what I used to wear 25 years ago, Oxfam waistcoats and oversized combat trousers from army surplus stores.
